Problems with vassals

For some reason, my vassal Naples will not allow me to annex them. I am playing as England, with the same religion, more than 10 years of vassalization, a +200 relation, and plenty of diplomats. Does anyone have any idea why the annex button remains greyed out and unavailible. As far as I can see, I meet all the requirements for annexation. (Is there a limit to the number of annexations in a game?)

so you have a common border? Wow, you must have conquered a lot of countries to get a common border between Naples and England

I'm pretty sure you need a common border to annex diplomatically. I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Yeah, that makes sense. I dont have a common border. Is it possible that if I conquer, say Apulia, that I could then annex them? Or does it have to be a non-colonial border?

Does your BB value effect vassalization at all.. I have ben trying to vassalize a neighbour (same rel, marriage , alliance 10+yrs,+200). Option available .. always a big
freaking NO!

don't know, but it would make sense. Also, I heard Hartmann mention something about relative might between the to-be-vassal and the 'vassalisor'.

but, just like in real life, it's not because you're rich, pretty and successful that you'll automatically get the girl. She might say a big freaking NO!!! there is a random factor to it.

One of the most important factors is your monarchs Dip value.
With High dip almost everything is possible, with low dip ... well 'do you feel lucky, punk' =)
