There was also "Herouniversalis" registered, so thats not decisive.

But there was a "leak" couple months ago that PDS was making a space game based on some board game. So that + the domain are two hints in the "spacegame" direction.
Board game? Explain please.

I lack the memory capacity to remember the name of the game. Perhaps somebody else can provide it. And naturally the leak could be just a hoax.

EDIT: "Freedom In The Galaxy" was the game, but I don't have the link to the post claiming that is in the making

I really hope PDS makes a space grand strategy (IIRC the domain name Terra Universalis was also registered, sounds like a good name for a space strategy game), but I hope it won't follow the usual space 4x/civ formula, where everyone starts basically equal with one planet and some varying traits. I want it to be much more like the historical PDS games where you have minors, majors, etc. Much more variety and challenge and potential for flavour and immersion.

It's probably Rome 2, Johan already said that they are going to release it... And to say that it's because they are already working on it...

I'm all in for a Paradox space game. I hadn't even considered this possibility before, but goddamn, I'd probably love that more than just about anything assuming it's made with the quality of some of their other titles.

I wouldn't mind Rome 2 but I'd be twice as excited for the launch of a space franchise.

To be honest, we got a lot of franchises doing Strategy Games on Space, and many are pretty good at it, so I prefeer VIC3 or Rome 2...

unless they somehow manage to make a CK on space, something like Dune, a group of houses competing in the universe, that would certainly be something different from the 4X Strategy Games we have... BTW ¿could this be modded with CKII, someone?

the runemaster game will be a waste of time, money and resources for paradox,a complete disaster.
paradox has not had any business sense, and has not realized that most paradox players are not looking for a game of these characteristics, that in the market there are many games of this style.
hundreds if not thousands of players of paradox just begun with great illusion one rome II.
as answer to these illusions of thousands of players, paradox throws us a kick in the face with this game that is not going to anything with what most players are looking in a paradox game.
a strategic game based in the ancient world as rome II would have been the game of the year with thousands of sales, but it seems that paradox is going the way of looking casual players who only like superficial, arcade,no historical,no immersion,no script games.
there are many totalwar players who have gone to the paradox games.fed up of superficial games, without immersion, without deep and with a horrible AI.
paradox do not make that thousand of paradox players go to other companies that still respect the high strategy, immersion, history and depth as AGEOD games.
hopefully that paradox of joy and announce a splendid rome II as a new game project.

You're not the first one to have this idea. Sadly, Johan said, I quote, "fuck no" to that in an AMA stream.

Is there a space strategy game out there that doesn't feature the old "everyone starts equal but with different traits" model?

"No, it isn't Rome II" was said one day after the forum section for Project Nero opened. Then they had to say "no, really, it's NOT Rome II". To no avail, because "ROME II IS COMING EEEEE" continued, unceasing and uncaring. Then Runemaster was announced and there were deluded crowds convinced that it was Rome II.

That's reaaally sad, I think that I would have enjoyed that more than I would Runemaster... Well, on the other hand, perhaps the modding community can do something!
