000 - The People
The girl listened as her mother spoke of the ones from beyond the sky who came from distant lands that one couldn't walk to. She wondered who was out there so far beyond the sky that she couldn't see them. She knew if she walked to the horizon it would always be there and it would change, but what would happen if she flew into the sky and sought out those distant places that the sky friends were from? She had never known them even her mother as old as she was hadn't known them, still the old ones from before her grandmother spoke of how the ones from beyond the sky came and helped the people to survive using their magic to make a terrible sickness go away and warned them of a mountain that had grown angry. They promised they would return to check on the people again, but that had been many generations ago.
001 - The Passing
The woman sat with her grand daughter as she had once sat with her mother and her own daughter and spoke of those from beyond the sky. She wished they had saved her daughter, but wishes weren't magic. They were just hopes that had yet to be destroyed. The Spirit Singers tried to call the sky people to aid with the plague, but instead it was those who had remembered the medicines the sky people had taught them that had saved the people. The Spirit Singers killed many Rememberers. Many were dying again... this time to war. Conflict wasn't unknown to the people, it was just part of nature, animals and even plants fought with each other from time to time. This was different though. The people weren't fighting about resources or even who was with who. The people were fighting about thoughts and what the people were allowed to think.
002 - The Warrior
The Warrior stood upon the wall the last of the Rememberers holds and looked out at the massed army of the Singers and then to the sky above and wished the people of the stars her grandmother had spoken of had never come, had never inspired her people.
In sky a star grew bright and moved with purpose as it fell from high above. It was as her grandmother had described. It was as the chronicalers had discovered in the old caves a double half circle with fire coming from behind it and below as it flew without wings somehow using fire to fly. They had returned. Just as they had promised they would.
The Sky People walked from their flying home and The Warrior watched as the Singers grew confused and fearful and joyous. The Warrior ordered the others to keep ready the Singers couldn't be trusted to not attack... especially now.
The Spirit Singers walked up to the Sky People and fell to the ground singing their glories. To the Warrior it didn't look like the Sky People understood. They kept walking their large round heads looking strangely like her own helmet, moved about looking at the Singer Army and then towards the fortress and the walls that the Warrior stood upon the hair on her neck shifted and she felt her ears shift as her skin seemed to shudder as she felt their unseen eyes upon her.
The Sky People walked through the Singer Army the Spirit Singers slowly rising and arguing with each other as they were ignored. Standing not at the gate but the wall the Sky People jumped and landed with the ease of one taking a step and the Warrior found herself looking at the face of someone who looked like herself. She couldn't hold back the tears as her grandmother's words echoed in her memories, that they would return as they had made a promise that would transcend generations. The Sky People spoke in words not heard in many generations of their sorrow for being gone for so long and of how well the Warrior and the Rememberers had done to hold true to their teachings.
003 - A new Home
The Sky People gathered the people who called themselves the Rememberers and walked them to their flying house. The Spirit Singers grew angry and tried to hurt the Rememberers yet the Sky People used their magic and ended the Spirit Singers killing them all and leaving the Singer Army with the knowledge that they had been lead astray.
The Sky People house flew smoothly such that the Warrior didn't fully believe she was flying and yet looking out the strange warm ice that the Sky People used to make windows in their flying house she watched as the Sky faded into near blackness and more stars than she could have imagined appeared. They stayed on the House for many long days watching as their world grew ever smaller and realizing how tiny they were. Even their sun slowly grew smaller until she could no longer be certain which of the lights against the blackness was her own.
Eventually the Sky People made them all sleep and they slept for what she would learn was ages as she and her people awoke in homes much like and yet different from their own. The Sky People had made them a new village to live in. They remained with the people for many years teaching them about the new animals and plants and about the ways of the land and promised they would be closer this time revealing that one of their homes would fly above the world and watch over them until they were ready to join the Sky People amongst the stars.
004 - Old Hatred
The Singers spoke of the Sky People who had lied to their ancestors and how they had been helped by deceivers born of the people. Deceivers that had stolen the power of the Singers and made them weak. The Singers grew their numbers and their hatred of the Deceivers who had taken their most powerful songs and the Sky People who had helped them.
The Singers celebrated the launching of their first ships into orbit. It had been countless generations since the Sky People had last come to the world and humiliated the Singers and soon it would be their turn to be made weak and as they crushed their skulls under their feet they would would sing of their deaths and shatter their worlds until only the songs of the Singers resonated throughout a galaxy purified of discordant songs.
005 - Beyond the Sky
The people cheered as their first interstellar ship breached subspace and jumped into the gravity well of another star, the sleeper ship with it's nearly generation removed crew, greeted them on the other side and confirmed the safe arrival with their old quantum communications system. Soon they would join the Sky Peoples, for there were many, and discover what was to be discovered and see what truly lay beyond the sky.

Just a simple one draft story that popped into my head.
