I've already post it in the "Suggestions and Improvement" subforum but (like suggest by son of liberty) i want to report this "dream" here in the mod subforum.

Devs, it's possible to improve a "Compendium Mod" 1900 - 19xx with the sum of :
Event pre-ww1 from 1914 mod
1914 DH Scenario
AAR mod
1936 DH Scenario
NWO2

It's just a dream or (when the Mods will reach a stable and complete release) it's a concrete opportunity ?

I think we should worry about completing the above mods beforehand. ;)

The logistics required to go from 1914 to NWO2-era would be difficult, and force you to play historically (and, as a non-Axis member), as alt-history is accounted for in the opening steps of NWO2.

Aw man this has always been the grail of all HoI mods! Back from HoI1 I can remember some talks of such mods. oldplayer.jpg But even tho with many possible problems obstructing the way as mentioned in above post, I do believe that 'mother of all mods' can be possible! If only thanks to the tenacity and stubbornness of a solid and united community! I think we can achieve this in a nearer future than imagined! The AAR mod had already globed some other enhancement mods like CCIP and is starting to open for cooperation with the 1914 mod, so you see bridges are being built! And for sure, its only a matter of time!

AAR and 1914 can probably be made compatible with few changes. AAR-1936/KR (some modified version of course) would then be the next connection. NWO already has some alternate history compatibility.

Imo, the most likely way of this occurring is future vanilla versions of DH. Some parts of AAR is being integrated into DH vanilla (afaik) and I'm sure parts of other mods will too.

Well yeah theres been talks of incorporating of mod materials, but it only depends on amount of more primary work load (features and engine mechanics) in the dev team. So we will see who will be the fastests to do this, devs or modders :p :)

Hehe, i guess we all would LOVE to go from 1900 through 1914, 1920, 1930 to 1964.

Linking AAR to 1914 actually wouldn't be that difficult, when it comes to the mod and 1914's events. Actually i guess this would be doable, and I've already looked at the events, and basically the i would need to change all the peace-out event IDs from DH-full to the 1914 ones. Problem is: 1914 uses the old HOI2 map, while AAR and most others use the Darkest Hour map.

Run it through the auto province converter and see if it works burning.

For events, as long as it isn't iindividual provinces but regions, we can just replace large blocks of provid with DH new method of region/areas.

As far as i know, Arturius‎ has already tried, and it didn't suffice. I don't know what didn't work specifically, but next time i see him online, i'll ask.

One big trouble is that you need to have a great number of different units and brigades. Mod1914 uses Light Infantry instead of Paratroopers, Guards instead of Mechanized, and so on. Plus, you would need to create multiple tags for each and every nation: creating divisions or ships in 1960 with pre-WW1 era names could ruin your experience (and vice-versa, you can't have RN Littorio in 1910, for example). Another issue would be to prevent the player and/or the ai to stay at peace for 30 years building an insane amount of troops and then steamroll the world in three months - has this been dealt with in AAR?

It's a lot more difficult than that, 'else Arturius would have done it by now (people have asked). I think their map is a custom one, anyway.

I checked and nope, map is same as in HoI2 Arma. (only some province names have been changed)

Well, that makes it a little easier. Still, simply running it through the converter would be difficult.

Mixing his China seamlessly with the one from AAR [shudders]...

Honestly, it's best not event to think about something like this until all the individual mods are completed. They shouldn't have to worry about the possibility of synching their mod with another.

But if this does ever get done (as unlikely as it is), I will never sleep again.

The problem with a massive compendium mod is that there is not enough modders to work on several projects at once. So we have to wait until individual mods are completed or converted from Arma and then combine them.

Also another problem is that it forces you to play historically. While it is possible to link AAR with KR, that is the only alternate history mod related to a 20th century event happening differently. A solution for this is to "make events as you play" and share them with the forum.
