Are provincial improvements still based on culture? A long time ago, during the Snowball time, it was said there would be eleven cultures and that each culture would have a distinct look for each improvement. Is this still true. It would seem from the screens that it isn't because on the county screen of Essex and Byzantione they have the same improvements. Just seemed odd that the soldiers have different armor but that the improvements don't.

Well, at least we know there are much more cultures than 11.:p

As for the original question, I don't think we have got any info on it.

Yes, there certainly would appear to be far more than 11 different lists of culture-dependent child names in the game, judging by the names that have shown up on the screenshots. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if for purely practical reasons there are still only 11-or-so groupings of cultures for graphics purposes. What other effects cultures or sub-cultures might have is still anybody's guess, I suppose.

Agree, much more than 11 cultures in the game, but I'd really like to know about cultures graphic representation in the game. Originally, it seemed like there would be a clear distinction between other cultures; we've already seen differences between soldiers armour, but no other differences have been noticed. I hope their in.

It'll be great advancement from EU2 where the religion determined the provincial buildings. Now each culture would have distinct buildings for their people. I'll admit this feature adds little to gameplay, but it does add visual appeal for an already beautiful game!
