Purchased Pre-release but no code?

Hi, I had my brother pre-purchase the non deluxe version of the game on Thursday or Friday last week. It seemed that the purchase was successful after he put in his credit card information and hit purchase. So I assumed that I had got the game and I've been waiting to play it since. But I've yet to receive a code in my e-mail for steam. Is there any reason I didnt work for me?
