Hi, I have two questions.

The first being what I assume would be a complex or impossible task; how do I take my Rome directory folder on another computer (COMPUTER A) and put it on another computer (COMPUTER B) as if it were installed without actually installing it? You see, I have lost my Rome CD. I know that I could simply copy the directory folder onto the desktop of COMPUTER B, but I want to take this a step further by having it in my Installed Programs List of COMPUTER B. Could I simply put it in the Program Files folder to make it appear in the Installed Programs list? The reason I want this done is so whenever a patch is released I can update it directly from COMPUTER B.

My second question is simple. Does Rome run on Windows 7?

As you say you can copy the files over via a USB stick and they'll work fine (I'd delete the files only in the Rome /map/cache/ directory though). You can then create a desktop icon to run the game with very easily, I assume you know how to do that. There isn't a way of having it listed in the Installed Programs list, as that is a function of the installation process. Nor will you be able to apply patches to it, as it will not have updated the registry, you'll have to apply any patches on your original machine then copy it across again.

It will run on Win7, although it was released before it and was thus untested on it. As with Vista it is best to install it outside the system path, to disable UAC, run as administrator, and disable desktop composition.
