I wonder if CK3 would get more participation if it was not disconnected from the rest of AARland for some reason.

I think inevitably it would. But we’ve been asking about the disconnect since the start and, a couple of updates later, nothing has given any hint of it being changed. :/

Some time now for celebrations, and then maybe the usual debrief? My first thought is that we really need to do more to get votes in from CK3. Considering its wild popularity, second-placing AARs getting only four votes a piece might suggest a problem with depth of engagement.. That said, it's encouraging to see that CK2 is holding out strong. 17 different AARs getting a nod is great.
Regarding CK3, part of the problem is, I believe, it's not integrated in AARland. All, and I mean ALL, other subforums leads to the same place, except ck3. It leads to the main ck3 board. This cannot do. We need the ck3 aar forum to be an integral part of AARland. Here, the forum admins have failed. I know @Mr. Capiatlist has raised the issue, to no avail. Perhaps we need to go to the admins themselves in the forum feedback thread? Or can @Shams or @Castellon chime in here?

So far all AARs I've checked has been eligble, but I'm sure I'll forget to check some. :p This one though, was ended in March TBC. ;)

Ah. Trying to fill in the other section anyway I can.

Also, for the love of God, please remember to link to AARs not voted on earlier in the thread. I'm looking at you TBC. ;)

My ballot was filled in over two weeks and looking at the thread, others had filled in the links.

Ten AARs got votes - the shared (with EUIV) second most of any category -

That's good, and they're varied too. However, many are mostly halted at the moment/have been for the entirety of the voting session, which is a shame.

Ged's Existential Nightmare got results in the double digit

Especially thanks to dedicated fans showing up only to vote for it and nothing else.

The structure of the categories are up to debate of course, how do you guys feel it went this time? Any proposes changes? :)

Aside from the problems of consistent content already covered (a lot of the nominations either ended or haven't updated very often), there must be at least something of a problem with ck3 being separate. And people popping over from Ged just to vote for Ged implies lack of engagement not just with ck3 but aarland in general.

However, we also have to discuss HOI because the category still isn't quite right I think. HOI4 doesn't have enough regularly updated AARs, and HOI3 and 2 don't have enough AARs period.

Yeah, there are some hints that EUIV is looking slightly moribund, although it looks like there'll still be a healthy offering next quarter. As we've discussed before, a lot of good gameplay, some LPs, some megacampaigns, and then the very rare history book which tends only to last a few updates. I was amazed at how many of the EU AARs I notionally follow atm were ineligible this time around. Lots of promise coming to nothing sadly.

Don't think it's quite nearing Vicky territory yet, though, so that's a bonus.

Basically yeah, I think without integrated CK3 we can't really have much of a conversation. Unless we can figure out some great way to bring the mountain to Mohammed, so to speak, above and beyond what we've already tried.

Wait you mean several AARs were not eligible and I missed it? :O I'm so sorry, I'm blaming the fever. :(

I think TBC means they haven't been updated since voting began – ie they're fine for Q3 but might not be for Q4?

This is not true, though. Most votes for Ged came together with a pletora of other votes for other AARs.

Yes. Same for quite a few of the CK3 nominees as well, actually. Bit of a slowdown going on at the moment. Though there are a lot of new CK3 works that keep that section going.

True. Only noting it happened twice, but that still bears watching for next time.

It was good that we had so much variety this time around, and so many votes generally, which is not often the case.

Congrats to all winners!

And thanks to the people who voted for my AARs (pretty sure I divided my own vote...)

Yeah, I really need to update my 5 AARs (Of which, shockingly, 3 got voted for by people here - thanks!)

Congratulations to everyone who got an AAR of theirs voted for, and to the winners especially. Many thanks also to everyone who bothered to vote, period. It's annoying to fill out one of these and you're all super-cool.
On a more selfish note, I'm frankly amazed that someone likes my AAR enough to vote for it here, much less three someones! Thanks, folks!

I will add my congratulations to all the nominees and winners, this is a great way to recognize worthy writAARs and it's brought several AARs to my attention that I hadn't tried yet. Special thanks to all those who thought my papal potpourri worthy of note!
Finally, extra thanks to @Nikolai for organizing all of this!

Thanks to everyone who voted for my AAR, I'm honestly overwhelmed by the attention and loyalty of my readers.

Congrats to all the other winners and all other AAR's receiving votes, getting someone to go to the AAR forum and put your AAR in is no mean feat.
