How is the work on the mod going?
Thanks for staying with me here. I've updated to have Great Works - it's a bare-bones version of the feature and just needs to be cleaned up and given a few new graphics. The Tower of Turgon, the Thousand Caves of Menegroth, Iant Iaur and many others appear as historical wonders and characters can construct their own ahistorical ones of course.

I've added new historical storylines and events that together are almost enough to move the world through the major beats of the first age. The edain, easterlings, and forodwaith now move in from across the map and are given realms by AI elf kings, the Noldor AI migrate to new realms after they fail to reconcile their differences in Hithlum, among other things.

As for the 'news' I mentioned earlier after teasing an alpha - I wasn't certain how much I should talk about since the details were being ironed out but it's probably fine to mention it now. The first age mod has been moved to be more closely tied to the third age development, and is becoming a true submod, not just a spinoff. Major changes to the third age will eventually be integrated into the first age now, and the goal is to prevent them from spreading further so the first age mod can benefit from changes made to the third age. Because of this, there's a lot of extra work to be done to bring the first age mod up to speed right now, but it will benefit from it in the long run.

I'd like to release an alpha after cleaning up some loose ends and ensuring that things are fairly stable and clean, preferably alongside an update to the third age mod.

I'm curious, are you going to give Galadriel land, Or are you going to have her unlanded in her brother's court? sorry if you have answered this before, but sifting through 33 pages of information can, well, make anyone's brain into soup.
She is landed in Doriath, actually, where she meets Celeborn. There's not enough land to go around in Nargothrond unfortunately.

On the discussion of tieing the two respective mods together, what exactly are some shared mechanics? Population mechanic as seen in MEP? Colonization? The most obvious distinction between the two maps is the geography, given that roughly 600 years of in-game time will see the map under water.

Well, the Edain and elves can be close and they could become lovers. But it's not possible for them to wed unfortunately. Not yet anyway...

Thank you for answering my question.

But i am now curious looking at the bookmarks Beren and Luthien would have fallen in love shortly before the union of Maedhros how do you intend to handle their marriage?

That's one of the things that's still being worked out - many things like colonization already had new first age mechanics created to replace the old system but I wouldn't mind replacing much of that with the new third age mechanics. I can't say yet how much new content there'll ultimately be from this or how soon it'll come but it's going to be better than nothing, which is what we had before. Hopefully they'll be able to share a huge amount in the future.

Hi ! I love the Third age mod, and this one look so epic ! can't wait to try it ^^, do you have plans on making ahistorical kingdom formable ? For the Dwarves and Men for exemple ? (The Elves have a lot of Kingdoms already at that time ^^).

If i may ask how is the work on the mod going. I also am very curious on how late into the first age we will be able start i apologize if you have already answered a similar question but as i have seen the pictures of both the bookmarks and of Turin turambar on amon rudh. As the latest bookmark we can seen i would assume begins shortly before the nirnaeth when Turin would have been a boy.

frankly at this point it might as well be. the random comments seems to be the only thing that regularly posts here.
