You start the quest, ask the guards, go to the archive, find a map, then suddenly you have the option to "execute the plan". Even thought you have no idea what is going on or where the monster responsible for the sickness is hiding.

Doing different choices, following the rumors and finding the well leads to the same result. It seems finding the map in the library should let you go back to these locations and navigate the labyrinth, but going to the archive by itself seems to trigger the "burn the town or execute the plan", which means at least one step in the text quest is missing. The quest just doesn't make sens at all the way it is now.

I'm currently having this problem myself. What a pain. I'm pretty sure I've experienced other quests where you choose one option and it gives you the other instead, too.

Can anyone tell me if this quest persists through the acts, or does it go away and if so when? I'd prefer to be able to let the quest stand until they hopefully fix it in the next couple of days.

ETA: SPOILER (maybe): After a little while (I assume a certain number of turns), Oxford succumbs to the plague, and you can no longer save the town. Glad I was forced into failing that quest...

I was just searching to see if I missed something in this quest. It seems like both options when it skips you to the end are quest failures. There must be a good endeing we just can't get because it skips portions of the quest.
