Hello,

I've got a few questions about creating an alternative version of the GC scenario where I can play the Netherlands in staed of Austria as the 8th Great Power.
I succeeded in making the necessary changes to the eug and inc files, so I can play as the Netherlands now, but:
1. the list of monarchs for Holland starts only in 1560 with Willem van Nassau, which means I get a random king at start, with average qualities. I would like to amend the list of monarchs for the Netherlands, in order to get rid of the random ones. Sofar I've not been succesful in doing so; each monarch in the monarch.* files has a code number (I can't find the reference file though, where is it?); adding extra monarchs to the monarchs.hol file doesn't seem to be possible, or am I missing something?
2. same goes for the leaders file, I need to add/change a few generals and explorers (the Dutch didn't start exploring after gaining it's independance from Spain, they started sending out exploration expeditions a lot earlier.
3. If I started playing the new GC as Holland, would I get into trouble with the 'Dutch Revolt' event in the game? If, how do I cure that?

P.S. I know ofcourse that the Netherlands didn't exist in 1492; however the territory wasn't all Spanish at the time either. The duchy of Gelre (roughly equivalent to the Holland province in the game) held on to it's independence until 1543 before ceeding to Charles V.
Gelre had a very able Duke (Karel van Egmont), and capable General (Maarten van Rossum). I just want to try the GC starting with that one province and see how long I'll last.

1) there is no reference file, at least not one publically available. You'll need to ask Johan and Greven to give you the specific tags otherwise choosing random ones will screw the names up. Alternatively you can try and search for the highest number and then choose the one after that, assigning them to your new monarchs.

id = { type = 6 id = 1609 } <- look for the highest number .. as said before and then add the new numbers, though I don't know if THAT won't cause problems either. Best solution at the moment anyways..

A tedious process.
I could check my files, however they are probably different to yours ..

2) <see above>

3) Unknown to me. I doubt it though since the territories would have already been 'freed' and the a.i probably won't start any internal crisis.

Hi Oranje,

if You succed, would You be willing to write a short FAQ about this? I toy with the idea to do basically the same with Prussia to let them start somewhat earlier (even more ahistorical, I know ;)), but the needed amount of change to the files frightens me...

Greetings, Hartmann

Sure I would, master Hartmann,
actually I already did, just didn't keep it a short one :D
and eh, I guess you're not frightened anymore are you? :)

P.S. now you know, it's all your fault :D

greetings, Oranje
