Hi!

I hope you would help me with one problem about eu2 map.

I and some others make map for EU2. The most land provinces are finished, but i found that borders(not red one) of provinces seems to be bad quality, however in PSD file everything is perfect. There was manual, but all links are broken. How do you draw borders of province?

Here two screenshots.

PSD screen: http://img831.imageshack.us/i/97517548.jpg

Game screen: http://img151.imageshack.us/i/89468776.jpg

I really need your advise, i have lost a lot of time doing my map and i cant solve this problem.

Best regards,

I don't understand very well what do you mean for "borders of provinces seems to be bad quality", but I think do you mean that there are in your map unnecessary borders. You might add borders only between two land provinces, now between sea and land, not between two sea provinces.

Link you have added are broken.

I fixed links, i hope now it works.

I mean when i draw border of province(on shading layer) it seems to be rather good quality. Espesially when it in PSD format. But when i put PSD to the game, this border(that a few minutes ago was normal quality) become low quality. In screenshots you can see it.

Best regards,

I think the problem is IDs layer. Maybe if the border of a province don't take the same color in IDs layer it generate a problem like this one. You might add not both color but one of the two provinces.

Besides there is a biggest problem: your source map isn't very well. Maybe you used Eu2 vanilla with magellan sulawesi 2.2.1. I don't know why it doesn't work with Eu2 vanilla. You might use FTG demo, free downloadable here.

Magellan Sulawesi 2.2.1 doesn't work with FTG because it looks for province.csv, which no longer exists. I'm not sure how you're managing with FTG's demo.

I worked a bit with magellan using EUII's map this morning. I managed to successfully operate mextract and mview. Mimage is where my incompetence shows.

I tried mextract with FTG one again.

Code:

As you can see, it looks for province.csv.

How do you manage to use it with the demo???

I am having problems importing an image file. (I'm using EU2 not FTG)

I exported an image file.
I opened it in photoshop and created some text in a new layer.
I merged the new layer with 'Shading'.
I renamed the merged layers back to 'Shading' and saved.

When I import I get the following error:

I explain you what I do exactly.
Firstofall I install FTG demo in C:\FTG, in order to have an easiest directory.
Then I open MS-dos and I write

cd C:\FTG

then

mextract SGLv005.eu2map /C /L /D:C:\FTG

I don't know what is precisely the problem, but I suggest you to try with FTG demo...

Did you delete at least one of the 4 layers in test.psd?

IDs, Borders, Shading, and the last one?

But /C is to create a new map, not for extracting, no?

And what's /L?

Basially, I don't want to create a new map. I just want to modify already existing maps of the early modern period, like WATKABAOI, WATK or MyMap.

Ok, so both my advice is not useful: /C create a new empty map and /L don't exists because magellan made all three lightmap again in default.

I think do you know this link, but I'm not sure: http://www.inferis.org/eu2/magellan/

So I think the only way is to take the map by the FTG version of that ones (if there are that ones...), then to try with FTG demo. ;)
