We all know we can now use the moddir function to play Arma mods on the old maps, but what I would have to do to if I wanted to port the mod to the new map? Of course I would have to change all the IDs in the events and in the scenario, but what other steps do I have to follow to make it work?

I hope someone more expert than me will be able to answer. :D

I am not a modder but I assume you have to do the following...
1. Map out each country and assign the proper province IDs. (existing countries and countries possible.) (This would include unit placement and such also)
2. Go through all country specific events and change events related to provinces.
3. Make any necessary or desired prov. information for map such as base levels, resources, aa, forts, etc...
4. Then there would probably need to be some beta testing to see if the game is still balanced and all events fired as desired.

It would be alot of work in my opinion, but worth it in the end. Maybe you could get help from the community to modify it, or maybe someone is working on it already.

Another idea is to take the full DH version mod and modify a copy of it slowly by changing each file as needed to include the changes. Atleast this way you can do it in smaller steps and test the changes as you go.

The most time consuming and hard for testing part is the update of all events AND AI files (those use a lot of province IDs).
It is not a one man task.
Better open a thread for the mod you want to port (don't forget to ask mod's creator first as he could work on the conversion already) and see if there are enough people interested to help you. Ideally a group will be formed and you can work on this together.

I know making it all working is something basically impossible to do for a single man, all I wanted to do was to see if it was feasible and then use my work to see if somebody will be willing to help reviving the mod (which is quite on a coma fase right now). But I notice I have exposed poorly my question: I wanted to know which files I have to (or not to) copy inside the mods folder to make the game use the new map instead of the old one, even if it will have incredible problems due to wrong IDs and similar. Btw I've noticed that the new Kaiserreich has problems with the map as it doesn't show any river, is it going to happen to every converted mod?

Like I said in my post....I would do it by copying the entire Full Mod....then Mod in each file one at a time. This way you start with a working mod with the map including rivers and such. You could at that point remove one of the two starting date files (save whichever one is closest to your mod start time and such.)

There are no rivers in Kaiserreich if you mount it on v1.0 DH. The bug is eliminated in v1.01.
