I've been enjoying this great game for some time now, and love the work that's been done by many in the community.
I'm looking to practice my developing programming skills by hopefully someday making my own kind of scenario.
However, could someone lead me to some of the most current guides concerning modding. (I've been to a thread for such tools, but many of the links were dead.)
Also for map editing, it seems one needs Adobe Photoshop along with the Magellon (Sp?) program.
Is there a free program which i can use instead of Adobe? I don't have the money for that. :(

Thank you for taking the time to respond. :)

Havard's Bible of EU2 modding is the best thing where start ;)

Magellan is a free converter from PSD files (Photoshop) into TBL files (Eu2 map files).
If you don't have a Photoshop, you can make the map in any graphical editor, and then ask somebody to convert your files into Eu2 map files.
So you'll need to make 3 PNG files (or BMP, but PNG will be better for this):
1) file with shading
2) file with province IDs
3) file with borders (those red borders that appear between countries)
Then find somebody who would put your files into his Photoshop and will convert them into Eu2 files.
People are often very kind and surely will help you with this ;)

With all respect, I seriously doubt it.
