Hello,

I made a localization mod for myself which includes a ton of new Hellenized country and place names for the game's eastern half of the map.

My question is - Is there a way to add the specific my country names within the countries_l_english text file and place names within the provincenames_l_english text file as a replacing text file, but ONLY replaces the specific entries I have in my file.

What I mean is -
Hypothetically, if the games default countries_l_english text file has 5 entries
Country 1: Rome
Country 2: Carthage
Country 3: Macedonia
Country 4: Seleucia
Country 5: Egypt

but I want to create a path/file which only modifies Country 3, 4 and 5 within that text file, while leaving Country 1 and 2 unmentioned and untouched within my new file - Is that possible?

I.E. my new text file would ONLY read
Country 3: Makedonía
Country 4: Basileía Seleukidón
Country 5: Basileía Ptolemaíon

I ask because I don't want to have to constantly update my personal mod every time Paradox adds new tags or new provinces in a patch or expansion. I find that tedious and annoying. If I get get my mod to only replace specific entries within a given text file, I wouldn't have to worry about updates unless the tag ID itself was changed.

Should be doable. In your mod's folder you can place a .YML localization file in the following structure :
//YOUR_MOD_NAME/localization/replace/

(or copy an existing one and remove entries you don't want)

The .YML file needs to be encoded in UTF-8-BOM.
Its contents can look like the following :

Code:
l_english:
 OUTLINER:0 " "

That tells the game to replace the normal Outliner header text with a blank space when loading your mod.
You can do similarly with country names for example entry by entry or line by line.

However currently game version 1.3.0/1.3.1 does not recognize mod localization files at all.
Have to wait for patch 1.3.2 where this apparently is fixed.
