In Imperator when a province/location loses all its POPs it becomes uncolonized land. When the same happens in EUV will that also be the case?
Also, I know that Paradox said it's possible for a Society of POPs to become a regular playable tag over the course of gameplay, but is it also possible for the reverse to happen? Is it possible also possible for a regular tag (regular in EUIV terms, BTW) to devolve into a landless army tag?
While on most places on the map I find this to be impractical, one region where this could be most applicable would be Anatolia. In that region it wasn't that long ago that the Turkish Beyliks were essentially roving bands of raiders, essentially an army tag. Effectively the Turkish Beyliks were right on the border between a regular tag and an army tag.
Let's say the Romans manage to reconquer Anatolia, those defeated Beyliks should devolve back into roving army tags if they have no remaining locations that are majority Sunni Turkish (obviously if you conquer all Greek majority provinces from the Ottomans at game start they would still have locations that are majority Turkish so they wouldn't devolve into an army tag). If this were done this would make the Turkish Beyliks an on going concern even after the Romans reconquer Western Anatolia. The Turks could head into eastern Anatolia and then return at a later date (say with the arrival of Timur) and attempt to reassert their rule over Western Anatolia or they could leave Anatolia forever and seek their fortunes in other lands (such as the lands of the former Illkhanate). These newly existent Turkish bands would take POPs from the Sunni Turkish POPs from their former lands in Western Anatolia.
I think this could offer some great possibilities for emergent gameplay over the course of a given game. Imagine after defeating the Ottomans early on in your game as the Eastern Romans, you then see them re-emerge in Mesopotamia.
