Are they passive sonar or active in game because in RL they could be both! :unsure:

Also does diving deep protect against them in game? In RL u could drop them at shallow or deep depth.

Anyone knows? Thank you

Edit: Ah I'd presume they were all active since we could detect them in the first place but does diving deep can help hide from them?

So far you can only drop them in active mode, but you can manually switch them to passive. Diving does protect you against them somewhat.

We assume buoys always listen below the layer in this game.

You can switch them manually to passive? Cool. If we could set them passive from the beginning i think that'd be cooler for MP.

Just to verify so sonobuoys listen to below AND above the thermal layers? Or just below the thermal layer?
I assume by what you're saying sonobuoys use active[only] above the layer and listen only(passive) below the layer.
