These may have been answered already but I have a few questions anyway.

How did you make the fighting, like that of the trenches of WW1?

What sort of role is air power going to play?

Did you change the diplomatic interface at all?

What types of governments are there?

What sort of ratio is it going to take to win a battle? (i.e. 3to1,5to1)

From what years will the game start and end? or will you beable to play indefinately?

Where is the Mod going to be released?

Are you going to expand the bandwidth of your Website? I keep getting a bandwidth exceeded message.

We gave units high defensive values, so it will take many infantry units to break through a smaller infantry line.

Air power will be limited, but it will be included. The units will be quite weak, especially compared to HoI.

We are very limited in what kinds of changes we can make; hard-coded things, like the interface and diplomatic systems are beyond our grasp.

The same or similar governments will be included in the Great War.

It depends on the terrain, technology, and organization. I would estimate (we have not yet had a chance to play-test our ideas) that at least 3-to-1, all other things being equal, will result in a breakthrough.

The game begins January 1, 1914, and will end on 30 December, 1924.

We are hoping to release it in 4 days, at least in a beta form, and the download link will be posted quite obviously.

We are working on that. I have space available for the page, but Johan is quite busy, and has not gotten me the files.

Thanks for your interest. Syko, if you find this, could you merge it with the general questions thread?

EDIT: And always remember:

There's already a thread for questions stickied at the top of the forum - we'd like them put there so as to not clutter up the forum....

Nurse, merge this with the Questions thread please! :)

As I am a kind, generous chap, I shall endeavour to answer your questions nevertheless..

How did you make the fighting, like that of the trenches of WW1?

High defence ratings do the trick.

What sort of role is air power going to play?

There will be air units just like in the standard version - fighters, bombers, naval aircraft and Zeppelins. They won't be as powerful as their Second World War equivalent though, but the importance of having good air units will increase as the player develops technology.

Did you change the diplomatic interface at all?

No

What types of governments are there?

Absolutist, Military Autocrat, Authoritarian Democracy, Conservative Democracy, Centrist, Social Democracy, Radicalist, Socialist and Communist.

What sort of ratio is it going to take to win a battle? (i.e. 3to1,5to1)

That largely depends on the skill of the two fighting forces and the terrain they fight in. Higher defence ratings have, however, made it difficult to win a clear-cut victory.

From what years will the game start and end? or will you beable to play indefinately?

1914-24 - although any player can tinker around with the game's years as it uses the unlimited time gadget thingy.

Where is the Mod going to be released?

On this forum.

Are you going to expand the bandwidth of your Website? I keep getting a bandwidth exceeded message.

Eventually, yes.

No the true victor here is me...I did not have to post anything, but my message gets across (See picture).

Hopefully Allenby and Steele answered your questions Maddogg1178. But if you could in the future ask your further questions to the correct thread: Questions about the Great War. (We try to limit the amount of cleaning up SykoNurse has to do.)

:D
