Anything early game to throw energy credits at? I haven't met any other species yet, so can't trade it. I am a bit low on minerals, so that's my limit on clearing tile blockers. Likewise for building anything to raise the maintenance. However, even at just +8 energy I am quickly approaching cap.

Energy is mainly used for ongoing maintenance of buildings, ships, armies, stations etc.

It's main "spending" uses are: removing tile blockers (very useful) and building robotic pops (very useful)

Keep that in mind, you wanna have an energy surplus while colonizing planets.

You should invest your minerals into getting more minerals because that is the only way to increase the mineral gathering rate. Send out your science ship and locate spots for mining stations (don't spend your minerals on anything else because you need minerals to get even more minerals in the future). Check first out the systems within your borders (you can not build stations in systems you do not control). Also build some mines on your home world at the start. Try to keep your energy just above 0 in the early game because minerals is the key resource.

In your case I would probably tear down a power plant and build a mine. Maybe even several and live on the energy stockpile for a while.

Tips for building Influence?

Sources of influence are:
*techs (there are regularly techs with +1 influence permanent bonus, iirc there are 8 such techs over the course of game)
*empire capital (+1, unlocked mid game by tech)
*rivals (rival as many harmless or bad-relations-anyway empires as you can, especially as militarist)

Don't build more than 1-2 frontier outposts and don't go into alliances unless necessary (they cost influence)

Rivalries are the most consistent way of doing so.
if you're lucky enough to have a leader with the +1 influence trait that's good.
Your Empire can also get a building for your capital which gives +1 influence.
Protectorates give +1 influence per nation. A good overlord can have a big income of influence through protectorates

That is kinda it. Besides some other society techs that also increase it. Make sure you always have up to 3 rivals, rivaling falleen empires give you more influence gain (but they could declare war on you)

@crysanja
No, it means that the leaders start at level 2.

@TheWalkingLost
Top right of the screen, click the galaxy icon. Then go to leaders to view all your leaders.

One of the tabs in the galaxy icon should also have a list of all your planets and sectors. Scroll down to the sector and left click on the name.

I have two questions

1 - Why cant I put a observation post over this people.. What is considered Post Neolithic ?

2 - Would these populations naturally become post Neolithic over time ?

@LordDamien
You would have to show us a screenshot of the surface view of the planet.

But you can only build observation posts on pre-ftl species. pre-sentient species can not be observed like this but can be uplifted when you have the right tech.

Stone Age natives ("Proto Civilization encountered") are special category of natives and if I recall correctly you can't place observation post over them (same as in case of presentients)
Post-neolithic primitives are those of Bronze Age, Iron Age, Medieval Age --------> Early Space Age

How do I tell how many ships I can put in a fleet? I found the thing that shows how many ships in total my empire can support, but I can't find the thing that tells me how many ships my Admiral can lead.
