It can't be related to Daimyo's losing control of vassals, since in my game where it happened, I haven't even appointed any Daimyo's. That means I also can't transfer these new vassals back to one of my other vassals, since I don't have any Daimyo to place them under.

It would indeed be nice if someone could tell us how this is happening.

EDIT: Thinking about it, if one of my Kokujin would conquer a province and he already has 5 Kori, then he would release any new Kori he conquers to me, not having a Daimyo title of his own and thus not being able to have vassals. It still don't know how it happens when you're only having Daimyo's as vassals though. In my current game I had three vassals, all Daimyo's, when suddenly I ended up with a couple of extra Kokujin and one of the Daimyo being down to 2 Kori, instead of the 5 he had.

Any idea on what to do in this situation when playing as Oda[Yeah, I broke free \o/] ? (pic)

Basically I tried 2 times so far.
First time I just failed with whatever I did and yep.
Second time I had a plot going against azai taking over all provinces except 3. As soon as I reached those said 3, Uesugi AND Imagawa declared war on me, me just laughing my ass off -__-

I´m somewhat new to that game and just can´t stay alive here...
But to my Nanbu experience (One game before, Uesugi crushed me x3) my Oda family got LOTS of childs! They seem to like doing certain acts more than Nanbu..

Edit: And by the way - Where is the Akechi clan? :<

How do I lower my reputation with other clans? I'm tired of spending extra honour since all clans seems to be super best buddies with one another.

I don't think there are any methods to lower your view on other clans, because creating a high relationship bonus is the only thing that helps prevent smaller clans from getting swamped by bigger ones (apart from the standard penalty those bigger clans get for invading smaller ones since patch 1.2).

Makes sense I guess. I just assumed there was a way since I've seen relations deteriorate but never knew what was causing it.

Is there any sure way to prevent vassals from stealing sieges? So I can have one vassal per each kuni and how they rule inside it is none of my concern? Is there any way to "reorganise" vassals between each other to follow that system? Or is it meant to be chaotic and impossible to manage? :)

The only way I know to prevent them from stealing sieges is to get to the sieges before they do. As for reorganizing, you can revoke their titles, but that will generally make the other vassals angry with you.

Vassals in general range from small and easy to manage to large but a good source of income. I personally prefer to have 2-5 lords all from my family and use the tax income to build a stronger retinue.

is possible to play uesugi kenshin (nagao kagetora) as uesugi master?? and ieasu tokugawa (ieasu matsudair) as tokugawa master??? changing the name of the clan or something ... thanks :D

If it is, I would assume they are in the 1551 start date. You can get to this start date by selecting its bookmark from the map after updating to 1.2.

What is the lowest possible requirement to give someone a Daymio title? Does he need to personally own all provinces? Can I transfer particular kokujins under another kokujin so he eventually is eligible to get the daymio?

So what's the best strategy here? Split kunis into chunks of 1-3 provinces, give each of them to one person (this way he can use the court to quickly upgrade the place) and the pick the nicest of them to be the duke? Or give entire Kuni to one person from my clan and then give him Daymio of that region and let him decide if he wants to create his kokujins or not?

I have a tendency to try to place my vassals that I get along with together in safer areas while I spread out vassals who are more rebellious. I figure that if the rebellious vassals ever do try to break away, they will be too isolated to consolidate and do anything worthwhile. I once attempted a one vassal per kuni, but after people start dying and extra land starts being passed around, it starts to fragment as if I had never even tried so I do not worry too much about it. It has lead me to the habit of upgrading 2 or 3 of my initial provinces and just switch out the next 2-3 with more built up provinces as I conquer them.

Quick question: You have those annoying events where vassals bother you for titles, right? Does an AI clan leader get those too?

My clan leader has managed to hoard four daimyo titles and of course, no one can use the diplomatic option to ask for them, since you need control of at least half that kuni's kori... which no one has. The guy is actually stuck with a dozen vassals, most of whom are only kokujin with one or two kori and he's refusing to give out daimyo titles.

What's your strategy regarding assaults?

- How much you like to outnumber the defenders before you tell your people to attempt to take the castle?
- Do you wait with first assault until there's a Breach?
- Do you assault a province "on arrival" to reduce the defenders from 3500 to some lower more managable number so the siege progress grows faster?
- Do you prefer assaulting when morale is at 75%, 90% or only when it's 100%?

The AI gets those as well. He'll start handing them out if he starts growing.

Hi quick question:

I've been playing as the Honma (?) and basically the Uesugi have been snapping up my neighbours one by one with me looking on in dismay. I've managed to become good friends with most of the Uesugi's neighbours through either gifting or marrying.

Recently the Daimyo of the Uesugi died and his son has taken over. This son has leprosy and has minus relations with everyone including many of his own vassals outside of his family. I've started up a plot against him but literally no one wants to join me. Is it because im still not good enough friends or are they just too afraid to fight them? Can someone explain how plots work and the most effective way of invited people into them? (Without them leaving a week later...)

For Uesugi you will have more luck seeking internal threat to them rather than external. You need to damage his honor below 25 so his vassals start going red with him, then after bribing those vassals you can have them break apart from Uesugi and join your war. Or even better, cause a civil war within Uesugi clan itself which typically means annihilation of all the levies they might have.

I hadn't considered hitting his honor. Thanks for the help. I don't suppose you know how low the opinion has to be between Ruler and Vassal for problems to start occuring? I've managed to get a few prominant vassals to about -25 with the clan leader and they still seem reluctant to join me in any plots or attempt civil war...

0. Wait for month change since you got the title so it appears on the list.
1. Give them a kori (or a few, bigger vassals are more profitable long-term) inside their future kuni.
2. Wait till they accept.
3. Give them the Daimyo title (they can only get it if they own land within the kuni).
