Okay my blind fangasm made me fail to notice or grasp the word "microtransaction" and its quite obvious "evil corporate"-feel. It's a joke. I guess?

Could be a joke but it is not exactly the first time Rome II has come up.
Some of the CK crew is supposed to work on a new game which could very well have characters.

Non of the unkown projects are sequlas but because it is Rome II and not EU Rome II you could argue that it is not a sequal.

Or they just call it a different name, since EU: Rome was a bit silly and it deserves its own franchise and Rome 2 will be confused with Total War. That way it is not technically a sequel, I guess. It'd be a sneaky way of doing things though, saying they're not doing a sequel while technically doing one

I would say Im about 70% sure that Rome II is in development and is very likely to be project Augustus.
Success of CK II should have encourage another character based game and Rome do have quite some followers.

I would compare a Rome 2 to a CK2, definitely. CK1 and Rome 1 were both fairly poorly received, but that didn't stop Pdox from making CK2 and shouldn't stop them from making Rome 2

While it is possible that Rome 2 is in the works, I'll sign it up to the usual trolling until there's an announcement. Even more because all the names there are brands, not specific games (not numbered), EXCEPTION MADE for Rome 2.

It would have to be otherwise it would just be Rome I. Also i don't think Tiberius and Titus have been confirmed to be new series have they?

They have said many times it's not Rome 2. I wouldn't be surprised if Rome 2 was Tiberius or Titus.
