So via Gameranger, I and some buddies have mine have been able to get a multiplayer game going. However, we are constantly hit with crashes, "fatal errors" to be more precise. These crashes affect random people (usually non-hosts, though, it seems) and come at random intervals. The first game we started, when we were all princes in Byzantium, resulted in crashes about every 5 years. It was more like 2.5 years in a later German duchy game, but we have not observed a definite deadline or catalyst for the crashes. Since not everyone crashes, someone is always able to save the game, and we continue, but it gets irksome having the load the savegame every 5 years. Do you guys have any advice on how to limit the fatal error crashes, or have any clue what causes them?
Also, I realize that this isn't in the Technical Support area--I have the Reckless trait, and chose to post this here in order that it would be read by more people. The Technical Support area doesn't seem to see much action these days.
Edit: Oh, and we're all using DVIP, if that matters.
