Its weird most the time I play it usually ends in a crash, these are really weird crashes, they seem to be random crashes, after I let go a few of my puppets being the UK, moving troops to the Pacific as the US, conquering Poland as the USSR, whats up?

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

I'm experiencing these annoying crashes too. Five minutes ago I was so close to conquer the world: I had sealion done by january 1941, crushing Afrika with Rommel and the italians and so fucking ready for Barbarossa.
Then BAM! CTD. No saves since 1937. Oh well.
I guess is something about memory and resources, like Castellon pointed, because I'm really low on them (256 mb
