Have you applied the 2.32 patch? What version and checksum show on the main game menu? Is there anything that seems to trigger the crash? Can you describe the exact nature of the crash please?

Please post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista/Win7 and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista/win7 to a non-system directory, like c:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis - Rome\, where [name] is your Vista/Win7 user name. You may have to search your C: drive for them.

Hi thank you for the fast reply. I apologize, I forgot to mention that I use steam. I assume that steam updates it to the latest version. I bought the Gold version, I only see Vae Victis in the menu. No version numbers or similar. I have not noticed anything special around the crashes they feel random to me. Once today it was in a battle and another when I was just letting time go, building etc.

There I hope that worked

The version and checksum should be on the main game menu, but for some folks it only shows when you go to host an MP game - please do that and report back, your system files look OK.

That appears to be the right checksum for 2.32c on Steam. So I'm not sure why you are having so many crashes, it's not normal. You could try updating your video driver http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx

You could also try simplifying your configuration, and see if that helps:
x=1024
y=768

fullScreen=no

master_volume=-1 # note: this is minus one

renderTrees=no
This will lower your game resolution, remove trees, play with no sound, and in a Window. If this helps you can undo those one by one to see which one worked. Also with it in a Windows, you might get a more useful Windows error message in the background in any crash.

Hi again, once when I was playing I got a crash and a error message from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. I've gotten this now and then, but I'm not sure if it should be in conflict with the game. I have only seen that message once with a crash. I will look on how to solve it. I just wanted to ask if you think it could be a conflict thanks to that?
