Summary

Random CTD on new PC

Description

This use to work fine but since I've upgraded my machine from an i5-9300K to i9-14900k, it seemingly crashes all the time. I've worked with your support, I've found a few things it's confllicted with like Gigabyte floatware and whatnot. I apparently have a lot of "BEX64" crashes, but it's only with this game I have this issue AFAIK.

So far I have tried the following:
Verified my steam files
Reinstalling nvidia drivers
Fix Problem Event Name BEX64 in Windows 11/10 (https://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-problem-event-name-bex64-in-windows-10)
[FIX] Bex64 Error with File Explorer and 3 Party Applications - Appuals.com (https://appuals.com/bex64-error-with-file-explorer-and-3-party-applications/)
Verifying the file intergrity via Steam (which actually made it worse)
Reinstalling the game multiple times
Changing the bios setting to eCores Diasbled
Turned off this 'Gigabyte Control Center'
Rebuilt windows entirely

I'm happy to provide any other information, but it really seems to struggle.

Steps to reproduce

It can be set off by a few things or me doing nothing at all. It seems to be a clash within the system

See attached the crash reports. It seems particularly bad for the Roman Republic run I was playing

Going through a different playthrough, it seems to be the construction queue that causes a lot of the crashes though not always annoyingly; it's hard to say what sets it off to make it reproducable

Hi! I couldn't match these CTDs to anything in our database, so I sent a query to our Code department, but the majority of the department is unavailable until Monday.

From the limited information I was able to gather I believe that there is a chance that the issue is caused by recent 13th/14th gen Intel CPU instabilities.
Please refer to this thread for possible workarounds - https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...intel-processors.1591821/page-3#post-29305331
I'll also move the thread to the Technical Support forum (but I'll continue to watch the thread and will update once/if I receive any more information).
Best regards!

Yeah, I tried the BEX64 fix again, and it went on for longer, but still crashes. I'll have another look at that thread.
