Random EU2 Crash- please help!

I am getting a seemingly random game crash which produces no error messages, just bumps me back to the desktop. I don't see any sort of pattern and can't isolate it, which is extremely frustrating... since it happens without warning and without mercy. Please, apart from saving every 5 minutes (if I even remember) what can I do?

My system goes like this:
P2 450
Win2k SP2
Hercules 3d prophet ddr (geForce) with 1410 drivers
390+ mb ram

any other info needed just ask. thanks in advance for helping me out before i pull my last strand of hair out of my scalp

Go thro "running" problems" in this Forum and adapt the advice there. If you still have problems then await the patch that is due very soon as that fixes some crash issues.
If you only have one strand left then pull it out - it must look a bit lonely
