Playng Spain in the GC the resource of the province of Toledo was grapes. The other provinces a miscellaneous mix. I discovered the New World easily and in due course I ran into the Aztec Empire. AH HA!! Now for the gold! What gold? The Azecs had 3 provinces of grain, 1 sugar and 1 slaves. I guess El Dorado musy be further south. Pressing on, I did find a gold mine in Nicaragua. Nicaragua?? BTW, Nicaragua doesn't have a coastline. Undaunted, I moved further south until I ran into the Inca. Surely I am near the riches I seek. The Inca Empire consists of 13 provinces including a level six colony. The Inca have colonists?? I guess they have colonists but the sure as hell don't have any gold. I eventually find anothe gold mine in southern Chilie. While I was busy showing the natives what good Spanish steel can do, I had neglected the homeland. The dastardly French and their running dog allies declared war on the peace loving people of Spain and proceedrd to kick some serious Spanish butt. I decided to try again.
Imagine my surprise when I restarted and saw a gold mine in Toledo. Further exploration revealed gold all over the place in and around the Aztecs. I haven't fully explored the Inca yet, but a fleet sailing up the west coast of South America has discovered an Inca colony again.
I guess I have two questions:
1. Is there a "random resource generator" for provinces?
2. Do non-European nations get colonists along with explorers and conquistidors?
Thanks!!
