Any body use fleet and aircrafts range limitation for AI option in misc.txt?

I hate when aircrafts attack my troops thousands kilometers away any enemy airfields!

I forgot to activate the option before i start my current game with Japan, anybody experienced activation with an already started game?
 
anybody use this option?

I don't if it is linked with but in my last WWI game, UK didn't group their fleet into the grand fleet (all battleships were dispatched all around the world) and they dont send me the BEF as expeditionnary force.
 
I wouldnt think it would be too hard to handle however....

My plan would be....

1. Allow AI to rebase and transports troops with no range limit to its own or its allies land....
2. If the AI wishes to invade something it will use range limit and rebase accordingly

This way the AI wont be crippled to help each other out but it will have to process a bit to actually invade somebody such as causing USA to maybe island hop

Thats basically best of both worlds .... since it stops annoying humans with insane invasions like Japan invading Leningrad.... yet the AI can take care of itself and its allies with no problem at all.

I think the AI needs a lot of work ... i was coding a bunch of AI for superpower 2 i turned the game from a static boring into something where the AI actually make armies and fight it was rather fun... In the original game the AI didnt really do anything.....
 
I didn't even know there was such an option to toggle. But yeah... just annoying to see Japanese ships off the coast of Europe somehow Chinese bombers that can outrange mine when playing as Japan.

You're referring to this one, right?
# Apply air and naval unit's range limits on missions to Areas and Regions. 0 = Disabled, 1 = Enabled, 2 = Enabled for AI countries too (Not recommended!!!)

The "Not recommended" text is there only because this feature was never really properly tested by us (and I do not expect it ever to be), so we don't know if it has unwanted effects and cannot guarantee that there won't be any.
