Any inklings on how these will work or even if there in? I imagine ransoms are anyway since it was such a way to make cash back then, but what else? eh? eh?

Here sergei...heeeere segei...

To the question asked by yours tuely :)p)
...for "pillage icon" does that indicate that the city is being pillaged or is it a command?
We got this answer from sergei
Pillage Icon appears after teh province has been pillaged, to indicate the loss of taxes for a few months, some other associated mishaps and that it is also can not be pillaged again during this period.
And a follow up by boreal_s
... in game terms that would mean:
a) special line, notifying how much next pillage may brought, in the province information block - and it shows a lot of data already.
b) different icon for each stage of pillage - and Art director is busy moving into her temporary shelter.
c) players having to micro-management this multiple pillaging - while they will have plenty of other things to look for.

Maybe you will be eased knowing there is indeed "Sack" action for an army - aimed on, to say graciously, reducing income and manpower of the province?

Duke in Red

So unless this has been removed from the game there will be pillaging (in the EU sense where the city produces no income) and a specific command to "sack" a city.

*edit* as to your other questions, there were some threads on ransoms and prisoners a while ago. None of which got answered, so I assume either that at that point it wasn't implemented yet or that it's a secret.

Hmmm, Well ransoms/prisoners should def be in..I mean that was a HUGE part of warfare..except against the middle eastern peoples i suppose..

Indeed. For some it was their major part of the salary. The mere promise of juicy ransoms could draw a lot of men.

OK so I checked again, and in this thread two months ago sergei said there are ransoms
you as a player can initiate ransoms
So while vague it does say that there will be ransoms:).

Ok getting back on topic, we already now that there are ransoms, but how are they implemented? Is there like a perchantage chance of capturing a noble/knight/important guy during a battle. And will each guy catch a specific price, or do we bargan with what the other sides willing to pay?
