Hey all, I'm planning to start a campaign as Mann to go for the "Empire of Mann achievement", this is a hard achievement, so forgive my cheese. The plan boils down to: releasing Mann, vassal feeding them all the islands I can, and playing an otherwise standard England game, I then re-integrate and re-release Mann and conquer the rest. I made an itemized plan:

  • Release Mann, but don't click to play as
  • Win the 100 years war against France, expand onto the continent
  • Vassal feed Ireland + Scotland to Mann
  • Early war on Aragon (possibly no CB or through Navarra) to feed their islands to Mann before Castille gets its PU
  • Early war on Venice (again, maybe no CB or through Italy? after shadow kingdom?) to gobble up Rhodes, Crete, Corfu, etc. before Ottomans get there.
  • Attack Denmark for north sea islands, take Sjaelland, Gotland, Iceland, etc. if possible
  • Continue to expand into France
  • Colonize new world, giving Mann as much of Nova Scotia, Caribbean as i can maybe even Madagascar if I can do it fast enough
  • Feed Mann some English cores
  • Reintegrate Mann
  • Release non-Mann vassals
  • Delete England's army & navy, ruin their vassal relations, empower their factions, pour development points into Mann, dissolve alliances, and make things as bad for them as I can otherwise
  • Release & Play as Mann
  • as Mann will be quite strong, and England weakened, independence should be easy
  • Conquer all the other islands in the world
What do you think of this vague outline? I think it will work wonderfully! I've done well as England before, so I believe in my ability to win the 100 years war and all that, but time-frames, integration time, and AE may make this tricky to pull off before 1821. I'm excited, and want to know if anyone has any ideas to improve this. I might also solicit ideas from the Reddit.

I also have a corollary question: What DLC will help with this achievment?

DLC I have
  • Conquest of Paradise
  • Wealth of Nations
  • Res Publica
  • Art of War
  • El Dorado
  • Common Sence
  • The Cossacks
  • Rights of Man(n)
DLC I don't have
  • Mare Nostrum
  • Mandate of Heaven
  • Cradle of Civilization
  • Dharma
  • Third Rome
  • Rule Britannia
  • Golden Century
would any of the DLC I don't have help significantly?

That plan seems pretty solid, no comments there.
As for dlc, here's my thoughts:
Mandate of heaven adds age mechanics, the most important aspects of which are possible 5% admin efficiency and +1 yearly absolutism in the mid game, and +3 maximum artillery bonus on forts in the late game. These are obviously pretty nice to have for big blobby runs, which an empire of mann game may well involve.

Dharma adds trade company investments. These are really overpowered, and make trade companies far more profitable than they already are. Seeing as how all the islands includes Indonesia, having access to these will help. You also get government reforms and the ability to upgrade centers of trade, which both are pretty useful.

Most of the rest of the dlc you don't have wont be all that important, but I may as well mention the bits I think would apply to you.
Inovativness from rule britania saves some monarch points, but not that many unless you go for it really hard, golden century adds flagships, which are nice for a naval empire, but not hugely important, third rome basically doesnt matter if you are not playing as russia, mare nostrum generally makes managing navies easier, but is not that big a deal, and cradle of civilization mainly adds bonuses for not using as many mercs, but not enough to make not spamming mercs optimal.
