Hi!
I'm currently trying to bring back the almohads into play by creating a fantasy scenario. I'm having difficulties bringing them back and have a few questions (BTW its a scenario for EU2 ans not ACGEEP).

1.There are no monarchs table for this country, so I created a monarchs.alm. Why does the almohads have a leader in 1492 if you release them into vassals (as spain)?

2. How do I know what IDs I can use for monarchs, armies, etc.?

3. Tis nation is in-game but there is no trace of them in any files stored in the scenario directory, monarchs table, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:)

1. Unsure what your question is here. If you created a monarch table and put something in it, shouldn't they have a king?

2. IIRC, Monarchs and leaders must have unique IDs below 150,000. All armies in existence at the start of the game must have a unique COMBINATION of ID and type numbers.

3. Again, not entirely sure what you are asking. If you're talking about a save game, all files (with the exception of event files) are stored internally within the saved game after the initial scenario load-up. This includes monarch and leader tables. If you mean they aren't showing up in-game at a new load-up, that probably means the files are not being properly called in the scenario definitions file.

2) Armies are creator-friendly and you don't need assign ID and TYPE for them at all. The game engine will give them some by itself at scenario start, if it will not be defined.

3) You don't see the country's monarchs tables and other stuff, because the Eu2 is for 1419-1819 period, and Almohads are out of range. So Paradox wasn't lossing it's precious time with a country that isn't in game. :)

Dunno why that country is there. It's same as Basra, and some other countries. Paradox created for them the TAGs, but then they didn't use them in the end.
Maybe they wanted at first and later they learned that the countries was already gone in 1419, maybe it was some other case.

It was for CK to EU2 converter. That way some of the most usual countries from CK that may still be in existence (Or Christian Crusader states set up by a player) could be converted over to EU2 in a converted game.

For the majority of us however, it allowed us to have even more tags. :D

Aye.

Ok, I'll try to be more specific sorry :p

If you play EU2 1.09 in the 1492 scenario. Play as Spain, create a new vassal, and you will have the option to create a vassal wich is the Almohad. They have a flag, shield, a monarch named Talaat. They have national provinces, etc. Just as a regular country. They are added in the country.csv. All normal for now. BUT they have no "monarchs.country" neither "leaders.country" tables. I've done the process using a User-Defined country. I removed provinces from spain, portugal and granada and gave them to my country. Still no problems. I've done the same thing creating a "monarchs.alm" (ALM being the official registered tag for the Almohad) and using their original shields and flags, I also used unique IDs for the monarchs (looked at other files for free IDs). Now comes the problem, when I load the scenario, It crashes, tell me that they can't load the files, etc. The question is, can I use what Paradox implented in-game for that nation and create a monarchs table for that country and use it for my scenario (BTW it is fictional , I know the Almohad are long gone by now :p). Hope this is clearer, Thanks guys! :)

A monarchs.ALM will be read for the almohads if you start a new game. If its a savegame then the monarchs have to be added to the save file in the monarch table (however, the monarchtable in the save file differs slightly from the monarch list in the db/monarchs folder.

If your almohad country uses a User-defined tag then the monarch lists have to have the same tag (i.e. monarchs.U04), but yes you can create new monarch and leader tables for existing tags.

Ayestheni, BTW, it is Jeanne D'arc , not Jehanne D'arc. I am french :p lol

I am aware of this :) . However, Joan of Arc could not write anything other than her name; which she wrote it as Jehanne.

Ayeshteni
