I have played three games and in each when I get to aprox 1670 I get this continous harp sounding noise that is in an repeating loop. I first though something 'grand' was happening so I looked everywhere for anything. I have the music turned off. The only thing I have been able to do is turn the volume off on the PC.

I have read all the notes because I was sure that if it was a bug I would see a message but I found no hints.

Does any one have a clue as to what is going on. Is there something I am missing, or do I have a rare conflict in my system?

This is unfortunately a bug. It is tied to a historic event. Don't remember the event name but it is when Japan closes it's doors on the rest of the world.

It is fixed in our ongoing tests but we can't release an update for that problem only due to encryption of exe files etc. It will be included in the next update. There is no date set for the release of that update.

Do you know if the noise will stop if IU wind the write message and make it a log entry only or is it a once on /stay on thing.

How is everyone else dealing with it? You need some sound feedback to help manage the game.

Thanks for reply

Thought I would bumb this one up a bit.

I've lost my last three games to this one. Makes me
skittish about starting another one.

Turning off speakers and fooling with windows
sound properties are all well and good, but
games that use video and sound hardware usually
are able to tweak these systems within the game
and then leave the system in its default state.

On a related note I hate that I've had to turn
off autoplay on my cd in order to play this
one game.

I do enjoy the game.

I've been using 1.08 and still get a
continuous noise around 1670.

Your post implies this is fixed/fixable.

Outside of unplugging my speakers
or disabling my sound card, how do
I fix this?

We have a fixed version internally but we can't release it yet as there are some other issues that we would like to address at the same time.

I got the droning sound when i played the fantasia scenario
in 1649.Patric mentioned it was related to Japan closing itself to the rest of the world.
So i Pressed F12 and typed Shogun(Press Enter), and the droning stopped and the game continued normally. I hope this helps the people in this forum who are experiencing this bug.:)
