I understand that this mod increases the number of available apartments and residents in a building? This way more people can live in one building?
Depends on the building. For row-homes you'll typically see a decrease in the number of households, for mid-rise and high-rises you'll see an increase. An idea of how the formula works is in the description. It's based on the size of the building itself.

Does this mod adjust the rate of what lot sizes spawn? Since installing this mod I had only been getting 2x4 and 2x2 medium density residential lots to spawn (so for ex. 4x4, 6x6, etc. lots would never spawn). Did not test this on high density or mixed use. Uninstalling the mod allowed the other lot sizes to spawn again.

It shouldn't affect lot spawn rates, no. Buildings of various sizes appear during my testing so I'm not certain what the cause is on your end.

Do you have any other mods that affect buildings and population?

im having the same problem for some reason, but idk if this mod is the definite cause?

update: it wasnt this mod, looks like zoning toggler was causing it and issues stopped for me when i disabled it

@maddogmark25
Alright so I looked into it a bit. It might decrease the amount of times you'll see very large lot sizes but it doesn't remove them entirely (it shouldn't be noticeable though). It all depends on how much residential demand you have. My demand bars are typically full, so I see the larger lots pop up a lot. However, if you're near empty, the game won't spawn any buildings that will bring the demand into the negative. Hopefully that helps :)

In summary, the mod offers a realistic number of people per building? If we have a large block there are more people than the default in the game? Thanks to which fewer blocks are enough to have more popularity?
If I'm thinking right, it's worth changing the mod's description. So that it would be well understood by everyone, especially since many people translate English into their own language. Examples can be added, for example, the default level 3 residential block has 100 residents, this mod makes it, for example, 130 residents. A small house instead of 10 residents has 4.

Such things make it easier to understand the mod and how it works.

Please note this mod does not change the number of households allowed in a building but instead, mainly removes excess households in housing. e.g. 10/4 households in a low density house becomes 4/4.

that is incorrect. You'll typically see for medium and high density buildings an increase in the number of households.

This mod causes mass homelessness for whatever reason.

I tried installing and not doing anything, everyone who moves out of the overfilled homes stays homeless and does not move into an empty home. I tried using the "Seek New Households option" and I get the same result. I tried "Remove overflow households" and it doesn't cause homelessness right away but instead it starts slowly trickling up with no way to go down despite lots of empty housing.

When I remove this mod this is no longer a problem.

Very unfortunate as this mod is a must have.

This is an issue I noticed with larger saves, and completely forgot to mention. If you reload the game with the mod, do the "remove households" option, it should just delete them and you should have a few people move in. I have an idea for a fix just need to implement it.

Thanks for this, I'll update the description.

To clarify, this mod causes homelessness even if you use "remove households" option, that is, it will cause homelessness to rise no matter what. I used "remove households" and had no homeless people and plenty of housing available, however when I tried playing the game normally my population stopped growing and pretty much everyone slowly became homeless untill I loaded an earlier save with this mod disabled.

When playing without the mod I do not have any homeless problem.
