I decided to change the cost of ship parts drastically by 4x, making that little corvette all the more precious. As well as making ships take up alot more fleet cap

*NOTE* i don't know how to make this into an actual mod for the stellaris mod installer thingy on start up. If anyone deems this worthy they're welcome to convert into a more user freindly format. and if anyone would like to incorporate the files into their own mods they're welcome

*WARNING* Mod untested in late game, unsure how it handles when disaster events spawn and whether they follow the same rules as below. play at your own risk and pray you survive.

-CHANGES-

All ship components now cost 4 times more expensive, this includes enegry maintenance as well so make sure you keep those power plants churning

Ships now take up much more fleet space to create a more realistic fleet size for large empires instead of massive doomstacks

ship cap now equals:
corv = 5
destroyer = 10
cruiser = 15
battleship = 22

I prefer it this way as opposed to having big clusters of ships pew pewing each other making the game too laggy to enjoy. now people can feel more attacthed to there mighty powerful ships

Linky https://www.mediafire.com/folder/sj86d6xwtvw2r/realistic_fleet_mod (im new to modding and don't know any decent file hosting sites lol)

installation instructions

Please make copy of original files first incase you don't like the changes!!!!!

go to your stellaris/common folder. if your using steam go to steam/steamapps/common/stellaris/common

copy and paste ship sizes text file into the ship sizes folder and replace original

copy and paste the component template straight intot he common folder and replace the original

Have done something similar in combination with the epic mod ...

BUT BEWARE, you will be crushed from all AI non race factions ...
at least you have to edit ALL of their ships also and increase that values, as it "seems" the game uses Ship size and Naval Points to spawn that enemies !

To survive the pirates Event, you Need at least 4 ships ... so in your example 20 Naval Points , that will be hard in your mod :)
