Hi, Does anyone know what the tech level of revolting peasants are. I read somewhere that it is 1 level below your own, is this true?

Might is be more appropriate for the rebels to retain 1 tech level below the previous province owner. For instance, if Russia takes a province from the Horde it might not be reasonable for the peasants there to jump up 10 tech levels just because they are now Russians. Perhaps the tech level could increase over time, suggestions...

Since the rebels are citizens of the country they are rebelling in their tech level should be the same as that countrie's

Rebels shouln't have same tech as your (they don't as well, they lag a couple of levels behind, i think). You din't walk to shop and asked for a full set of modern arms for 40 000 rebels. They got some new, and some old and some very old weapons. Look at peasant revolts in Germany... not the best-equipped army...

In the save file there is a tag for rebels as if they are a separate country. Under that tag you can see all the information about rebels including their tech levels. So it seems it is the same for all peasant revolts regardless of the country, and it doesn't look to be very high. Of course that apllies to 'standard' revolts and not not to new revlted countries which may get tech levels of their former masters, which would make sense.

Come to think of it: usually rebel fire value is 0. Not very advanced then...
