Is a trading post with no native population subject to a revolt in the event of a change of religion? How about loss of stability?

Is there any correlation between population in a province and the size of a rebel army that does appear there?

Trade posts and colonies shouldn't revolt. I've colonies revolting sometimes, yes, et the change of religion, but it's rare.

And you don't see population of a province, you see population of a city.

Change of religions can create revolts in colonies. Even though only the city populaton get listed, one shouldn't expect large rebel armies in teh colonies generally speaking.

Bib:

Define 'not large'. I'm trying to get an idea of how big an occupation force I need to have in provinces that are at risk of revolting.

The size of the rebel forces depends on the population of the province, so the number of troops you need will vary accordingly. Remember that rebel forces when they first appear have fairly low morale, so your occupying army can be considerably smaller and still defeat them. Experience will be your best guide as to what size forces to use.

Thanks DK and Bib. I already had the idea of several strategically located reserves to put out any stubborn fires. If a couple thousand is all it takes, I'll be in good shape.

I have never seen a trade post revolt, only colonies.

high inflation (90-100+), war taxes, occupied capital and low stability have cause revolts in my colonies. But i've had dirty jerz and those damn de la wares revolt for no reason several times. Just send in the cavarly.

In the americas try not to let rebels occupy more than one territory on the coast or usa will appear (in the igc, i am not sure about the stock version which requires somewhere from 5 to 10 colonies to be rebelled controlled - you'd have to ask hartman or huzsicks theys the gurus).
