Team. Here is the updated roster:

France: National_Cause
Spain: _KoP_
Ottoman:Duque
England: Alek
Russia: Uls
Austria: Fruco
Sweden: Grabah

Testing session: Tommorow Weds Nov 07 2007 at 22:00 GMT = 5 PM NY time ( for those from USA, time has falled back 1 hr)

Anymore suggestionto this roster? post now. Keep in mind that the ultimate goal is : Balance.
 
From my readings of the last game, it seems France was the crucial link in the chain restraining Hapsburg rule in Europe. To be sure, France has a strong starting position in terms of rich provinces and manpower. However, if people are depending on me to keep both Spain and Austria in check in my first MP game they may be let down.

That isn't to say I dislike my assignment. I'm just happy to be playing. I just thought I'd bring the issue up for those interested. However the game turns out, I'll keep playing and hopefully the campaign will go on.

I'll be at test session tomorrow.

If National_Cause prefers OE, I can pick France. After my Portugaise experience (similar as playing SP), I would prefer a country in the middle of Europe. I think that change won't unbalance the game since both of us are newbies.



On the other hand, althogh we could start with only 7 players, I think we should search a Polish player. So, Russia and Sweeden will have more neighbours and it also allows more possible alliances in this zone (I offered Poland to a Polish friend who played with me in V-net, but I'm afraid the gametime will be too late for him).

KoP, I can be here consistently for each session if we start promptly. I would love to play! Any country is fine with me. Just remember, I'm not that good. I did good with OE last session because they are a very easy country. Venice,Portugal,Poland, whichever you think is needed most. (I'd hate to be Poland though with Fruco in Austria and Grabah in Sweden) :)
 
Duque, not sure if I prefer anything other than just playing. Any country I'm assigned I will dutifully play with. I just want everyone else to be happy with balance. As far as OE is concerned, it could be really fun. Though much to my embarrassment I must admit I've never played a substantial SP campaign with any nation outside of Europe. So you could say I'm somewhat of a liability all around the board.

Hmmmm. I'm starting to think I'm not making a great case for myself here. :rofl:

EDIT: In any case, hopefully KoP will make FINAL roster tonight. That way I can get in a quick "cram session" SP game tonight in order to familiarize myself with my surroundings.

First of, for nobody case, i like to have to in game, but you must know for fact that people have real life to carry, sometimes hard for them to come on time ( promptly as u said)..late 10-15 mins..is ok..not encouraged...

We want someone reliable in this game. It is not good if you threat to leave game everytime someone is late for like 10 mins...as a GM, i cant allow that. Plus, think about it...it's 5pm game time now in USA..not that late anymore for u when game stops...if you promise not to quit everytime we start late, then I will gladly put you on roster.

Hello guys, I would like to know if there situated for one more player, I have a lot of experience in eu2, though a bit less in mp, if you did not have disadvantage I me would like to choose Denmark that to be played by this country.

Sry for me english, is not more good

Troy, if it was valid reasons why they were late, that is fine. But if it's because of poor organization and communication with the players, that's not fine. The reason why I complain about people being late, is precisely because I know people have lives! Last session took 3-4 hours, and we played 10 years. For me, that's a problem. Wait for a game all week, and then only play 10 years?

It doesn't have to be that way. Practice sessions are great, and I wish we had some more last time. It's a great idea. I know this is the first EU2 MP for many of us, so I'll tone it down man. :)

BTW, I think this game is much more balanced, and if all 8 can show up and play each time, we should have a very good game. :)

1. Understand Rules.
2. Ok with Game TIme.
3. DownLoad Hamachi
4. Download ICQ, add the team in.
If you can complete the above 4, please show up by tomorrow Weds Nov 7 at 22:00 GMT

KoP, remember that Poland is more important than Venice, or else Uls will be all alone in the east. :(

will we be able to claim cultures? in some games, if a player owns more than, say, 75% of a given culture for a given number of years, he can claim it as his own.

Also, will we be playing with a normal 1492, vanilla scenario (Age of Discoveries i think it's called) or will we play with Peter Ebessen's scenario?

Sorry for the lateness of this inquiry, but is Hamachi necessary for all players? From what I've read of the program it is only necessary for those with a router or a firewall that disallows EU2. For my own part, I'm not using a router and I've disabled my firewall for EU2. If this isn't sufficient, or if EVERYONE playing must have Hamachi, please let me know. Any information regarding this issue, how the program works, etc. can be PMed to me in order to keep this page clear of technical and rather noobish clutter.

Aside from that I'm looking forward to the test session tomorrow.

so im between fnuco in poland and uls in russia? :eek:
i suddenly feel how my warmongering rage is calming down,
yes i think im completely calm now.
we sweeds are after all very peaceful nation, even kind of introverted, just minding our own business :D

EDIT: and btw i vote for vanila 1492, and against culture and core adding.
poland could use one more national culture true, but i think fnuco you'll do fine in this game even without it. ;)
