I know I am new to the forum but I would still like to join. Will you let me or are you going to be rude to the lowly recruit.

perhaps jg, your signature ought to be a glitzy ad, and not just a link. ;)

hehe, Yup, well, sometimes the obvious isn't too obvious apparently...

Any idea how I can jazz it up?

I will be gone for a week. Traveling around France on vacation. :)

what i am proposing to do is set up a group and hopefully for it to become a HOI Multiplayer team (call it what you will). This organisation would also make it easier for members to play in larger, structured multiplayer games at set dates instead of trying to locate an oncoming game. It is mainly for fun and to create the oppertunity to play some good multiplayer games but it is also to see who among us (once any people sign up) is the best strategist and it will be intresting to see what strategies other players use.
WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!! I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN A GROUP LIKE THAT!
IN FACT, I HAVE, AND YOU CAN TOO, SINCE SUCH A GROUP ALREADY EXISTS!
FOR MULTI PLAYER MADNESS, AND LOTS OF FUN JOIN THE HOI PLAYERS ASSOCIATION. DO IT NOW DAMMIT!

Maybe a little, but he meant no offense, tovolana is probably a little more expressive than I, admittedly I was a little chagrined myself you know... after all the HoI- Players Association does have nearly 200 members, almost 50 games under the belt, more than 10 games being played at any one time.

ok i have had my sedatives now. i intended no offence. if anyone was offended i apologize. it just seems strange that often players are asking about regulalry scheduled games, and looking to get away from the hit and miss expereince of pick up games on v-net, and yet many don't bother with the HOI-PA.

Well many still don't know much about the HoI- PA, it's not like we advertise much. ;)

Of course I really can't think of any place that has even a tenth of the multi-player activity... though these forums are nothing to sneer at. :)

I suppose we'll just have to advertise harder, after all, it's a service to the community. All those players, all those games, all that organization, all that help, did I mention Free Copies Of HoI 2? (that last bit might get peoples attention hehe).

Free, did you say free. Well thats it I am joining that fine club as soon as possibe.

ok then see you soon

Yes, free. :)

There are several contests as rewards programs for our members, currently we're giving away 3 copies of HoI 2 when it's released, maybe more...

I would love to play HOI online.

But it is just too unstable to waste any time on it.

Last MP game, we made it all the way to May 1936 in about 5 hours due to all the Lockups/Freezes/CTD/Sync issues.

Paradox makes great games but the MP just plain sucks in every game...
(EU2 is MP playable after about 2 years of patches, Victoria isnt even playable in MP last I heard)

I think they need to outsource the MP code cuz whatever they are doing isnt working....
What are you talking about? I am playing HoI MP quite frequently and we have never any great problem with CTD, lag or so. I'm not saying you don't, just that in general that is not the fact. HoI MP works excellent.

Maybe you just play with a host with low-bandwith or slow computer?
