My bug happen during war, when you have legion stationed in a region and the last province of it fall so you no longer have a Dux in charge of Legate of those legion.

Senate will not stop to order you to put a Legate in charge of the legion and since it is a regional legion no one but the dux of that region can take charge of it, so if you accept senate proposition you find yourself with legate of that legion that can't actually take command (was able to get up to like 8-10 legate for a single legion due to that bug).

If you decide to unstation the troop one of those many legate will take the head of it, but all the other still remain bugged. Only way I found to get rid of those bugged character was to completely disband the bugged legion by reorganization or by simple disbanding.

Btw putting back a dux in place will put him at the head of the legion but will not correct the bug for other character (just stop Senate from asking to put a legate in place)

I think it quite a major bug because if you don't come to notice it you can quickly find your character pool to be drained and have no one left to fill other duty because almost everyone will be Legate of Xth legion.

Same here in VV 2.1!

I actually came to this board to specifically report this bug. So I am glad to see that I'm not the only one to have experienced it.

In my game as Rome, a civil war turned Corsica and Sardinia rebel, but the regional army remained loyal. The governor lost his position due to the rebellion, which appeared to render the regional army leaderless. At least, that is how the game recognized it to be because the Senate kept ordering me to accept legates for that army. I accepted, but none of these legates actually took command of that army and thus the Senate kept appointing new ones. I think the Senate appointed 4 or 5 legates for this single army!

After I crushed the civil war and appointed a new governor, the governor once again took command of the regional army. However, the game still recognized the legates it appointed during the civil war as being in command of that army when in fact they commanded nothing. Thus, I had four or five characters with whom I could do nothing because I could not relieve of them of their non-existent commands.

It's not a game-breaking bug, but it certainly is an annoying one!
