History

I don't think it would be around 1945 as in the later campaign the Russians get MiG's along with their standard insult of Yak aircraft. I believe RA 1 would be around the 1970's or 60's. Of course they could be referencing the MiG -9 "Fargo" but meh.

apparently technology advanced by 2 decades suddenly when The Cronosphere was activated.

HISTORY OF RED ALERT:
Setting and story

Command & Conquer: Red Alert takes place during an unspecified period in the 1950s of a parallel universe, which was inadvertently created by Albert Einstein in a failed attempt to prevent the horrors of World War II.

Starting off in 1946, at the Trinity site in New Mexico, the opening to Red Alert shows Albert Einstein as he is preparing to travel backwards through space and time. After his experimental "Chronosphere" device is activated, he finds himself in Landsberg, Germany, in the year 1924, where he meets a young Adolf Hitler just after the latter's release from Landsberg Prison. Following a brief conversation between the two, Einstein shakes Hitler's hand, with this somehow eliminating the man's existence from time and returning Einstein to his point of origin.

With the threat of Nazi Germany having been successfully removed from history, the Soviet Union began to grow increasingly powerful under the rule of Joseph Stalin. Had Adolf Hitler risen to power, Nazi Germany would have emerged as a force standing in the way of Stalin's own ambitions of conquest. Instead, left unweakened, the USSR proceeds by seizing lands from China and then begins invading Eastern Europe, in order to achieve Joseph Stalin's vision of a Soviet Union stretching across the entire Eurasian landmass. In response, the nations of Europe form into the Alliance, and start a grim and desperate guerrilla war against the invading Soviet army. Over the course of the game's story, the Allies and Soviets fight out a devastating conflict for control over the European mainland, in what has become an alternate World War II.

1972

Shortly after the end of the war, Yuri activates his Psychic Dominators and attempts to conquer the world, resulting in the Psychic Dominator Disaster.

To prevent this, the Allies used a prototype time machine to return to the beginning of the Third World War to not only defeat the Soviets once more but to avert Yuri's plan for world domination. Uprising TimelineEdit Uprising Timeline sectionEdit

Unknown

The once mighty USSR is divided into 15 republics. The Soviet Underground movement began to fight FutureTech Corporation with success to expel the Allied occuaption forces from the USSR, giving them the means to rebuild their Soviet empire. They destroy the Sigma Harmonizer to rescue themselves and, indirectly, the Allies, from being chrono-erased by Rupert Thornley's madman plans of ridding the world of communism at the roots.

The Empire of the Rising Sun saw a shogunate uprising and, with Allied help, Emperor Tatsu almost restored full power to the now-defeated Empire. The Shoguns and Tatsu himself are now under Allied arrest - alternatively, the forward-thinking once-Crown Prince made his show of independence.

Yuriko "Omega" Matsui, through 3 phases of trials and tribulations, is now free, after she killed Izumi, her "sister", and Dr. Shinji Shimada, the man responsible for the "Omega Project".

Just so we are clear, that is a fan-timeline. There is no need to feel bound by it, especially not the bits put in to explain the modern map (as for the tech, it is unlikely that Stalin would be alive by the 60s, and certainly not by the 70s, so either it has to be advanced to get it to that level in the 40s/50s... or, since the story doesn't rely on it, except for the computers, OTL levels can be kept. Besides, the technology levels are hilariously inconsistent).
RA1 is about West Europe vs URSS. We know very little about the rest of the world. USA seems like to help Allies (they send Tanya) but Soviets don't have a USA invading campaign. Soviet ending should start Tiberian Dawn? How could Kane be so lame to don't win against USA if he start with Russia and whole Europe? Maybe Kane was just a joke because they planned only one title of Red Alert.
Word of God - and implied by Retaliation's movies - is that the USA joined in officially after the Battle of Greece, just after the tide turned in favour of the Allies. As for Kane, he wasn't a joke, for exactly the reason you mentioned: they only planned one title of Red Alert, which was to be a prequel to the Tiberian series - via the Allied ending, the Soviet ending idea was fanon intended to keep the connection when RA2 came along.

Interesting Idea, but how do you want to implement multiple simultanious timelines? You jump in time in this game, and if you assume that all time-travel events proceeded either as a success or failure, then about 90% of all the timeline would never actually have been visible to the player. (Also, ther would be little to no explanation for events happening because of a war that won't happen).
But I'm sure you do have something in mine, care to explain how you will implement this?

You just get different scenarios.
