I installed EU 2 patched to version 1.09 and got it to run successfully, .AVI file and all. I then deleted it, and attempted to reinstall. After patching it and running the .exe file, EU failed to start....any ideas?

Failed to start in what way? Any errors or messages? Did the EU2 and 1.09 installs seem to go OK the second time?

No problem at all with the re-installs, both main program and patch. I attempted to start the program after making it compatable with Win XP SP2 (I'm running Windows Vista) as I did in the initial install, and them double-clicked the .exe file. N-o-t-h-i-n-g!

Do you see anything in teh task list?

Try running it off the CD itself, any better?

Can you try running it on a different machine? The CD may be faulty, dirty or scratched.

If my theory is right, because it wasn't scratched or dirty then. If I'm wrong, well, no real ideas ... something must have changed between your successful and failed installations. Windows update? CD drive broke? Testing the CD on another PC would be a very useful test.
