Looks good, nice fine detail in the leaf texture and bark.

How does one go about making a tree? Is it any different from other assets? Do you need to make a LOD and what not? Thinking about making a custom tree asset as well, but was wondering if there is anything I should know going into it. Thanks.

You just make the tree you want in a 3D program, then import it as a tree in the asset editor, you can make a LOD or the game will make one for you. It's pretty much like regular assets. If you have more questions just ask. I've already made a bunch of trees.

I know that the leaves on in-game trees are typically made of planes that intersect eachother. Is this essentially what you do and just texture them, using an alpha mask for transparency on the leaves?

Yes, what I do is make a plane. then I unwrapuvw and make a texture for the uvw space. then I apply a material to the plane. I usually add a few segments to the plan such or 4 or 5 so I can then bend the texture in a curved shape and distort the leaves the way I want them and just copy the plane and distort that leaf a different way to give the tree more realism and repeat the process. I didn't have to intersect planes with this kind of tree though because that's now how it grows. But yes for other trees you can do the intersecting kinds.

Here are some tutorials that might help you, If if you don't have access to these programs you can still benefit from watching them to see how plants/trees are constructed.

I saw some of your stream last night but my internet can be shitty most of the time so couldn't chat. Good to see the results. They look cool.

Yea my twitch was stream was acting up and disconnecting a lot anyways... It was kind of a boring stream but I had a guy help me out with a part of the tree which was nice of him. I think my more interesting stream will be when I make a map, more interesting to watch and stuff going on... Opposed to me messing around with textures and vertex lol.
