I'm going to do a bunch of events related to the religious techs, as they don't seem to do much at the moment.

Here's the first (I'll write the script later once I've figured that part out):

Event: Commoner preaches against the priesthood

* A group of dispossed poor have taken to the roads, preaching against the wealth and greed of the catholic church. The local church officials are upset, demanding that you punish these heretics for trespassing on the privileges of the clergy, as only ordained priests are allowed to hold sermons and preach.

Requires: Apostolic Poverty, Catholic Province Religion

Option 1: Support the commoners
* Drastically lowers church power and loyalty. Raises peasant loyalty. 5%chance of heretic trait. Piety penalty.

Option 2: Persecute the heretics!
* Raises church power/loyalty by 0.1, and lowers peasant power/loyalty equally. Smallish piety bonus. 10% of gaining zealous trait. May trigger heresy event.

The event is inspired by the poor men of Lyons. It probably needs some work.

Religious tech advance should not be research.

They appear naturally after a while.

And they are used for a very important purpose:

Creation and propagation of Heresy between provinces and characters...

You have not look thoroughly and examined all the events properly ;)

I wouldn't mess with them :D

Well, I have seen the heresy events but they are bit dull, I think. Also, I think events are missing which mess with power/loyalty and forces the player to make hard choices.

I wasn't intending to change the existing heresy/religion stuff - merely to propose some events which add some flavor.

Sorry, I didn't mean you shouldn't try your own events or was in anyway willing to curb your imagination....

I just wanted to point to you that by playing with religious advances, you may trigger heresy sooner than later...

Also, you have to be aware that these advances are here for this purpose: To enable heresy spread between provinces and characters.

Be aware to choose ID >= 10000 for your events, but then, please, do whatever you want, and be creative :)
