Hi, I recently installed CK, running on XP, but hit upon a problem shortly after starting to play. I can start a new game, but after I save once and reload it later, the game crashes and gives me an error report. I installed v1.05 immediately, but still it crashes.

When I reload I can get to the game screen itself, but as soon as I physically "start the clock" it actually crashes. Interestingly, if I pause the game, I can still perform game actions. Only when I unpause does it crash.

Any solutions, I realise this sounds a lot like some of the similar problems on here, but they all seem to be dealing with Vista installations or Deus Vult.

I appreciate any help or views on the matter, thanks.

Welcome to the forum

Did you start a new game after patching or did you use your old save game?

If you did start a new game, rename avi folder to avi.old and set colordepth to 16 bit.
