GENERAL
This is the thread where you publish your AARs.
A full AAR consists of
1. A narrative
2. An edit request consisting of
a) reward specification
b) an MT calculation
c) a leader request
d) a core request
e) a culture request
f) a request for any other edit you want
WHEN TO POST AN AAR
Post your AAR not later 09.00 CET the day before the session takes place, i.e. on Sunday if it is a normal Monday session. Because this is the earliest moment at which we will start excerpting relevant edit information from your AARs. When we have made a compilation of all this info we will post it in our general thread. You will then have some time to check it for errors. Note, only such errors will be corrected. If you change your list of edit requests in your AAR after we excerpted them then this change will not be considered by us when we make the edits for the upcoming session.
No one will ever be given extended time. Does not matter if you were run over by a car. If you are late your only chance is that I am late doing my compilation.
THE TITLE OF THE AAR
The title of your AAR post shall be
<AAR> <NATION name> <YEARS>
Example: AAR SCOTLAND 1419-1435
The reason for this is simply that it makes it easier for the editor to spot what AARs he must inspect each week.
THE NARRATIVE
If you write a narrative of at least some 200 words you will get a reward of your own choice (see below under REWARDS).
Please take note of the length requirements for the AAR narrative. And please avoid putting yourself around the length limit required.
EDIT REQUEST PART 1. THE REWARD SPECIFICATION
If you are entitled to a reward or two you specify what it is you want. You can freely choose between
1. 1% Deflation
2. - 3 Badboy
3. An amount of ducats. The amount of ducats will be determind using this scale, where the savedate will be guideline:
1419 - 1500 = 250 ducats
1500 - 1630 = 700 ducats
1630 - 1750 = 1500 ducats
1750 - 1820 = 2300 ducats
4. Conversion of a province that you own. The price of the conversion must not exceed the amount of ducats that would have been given.
5. Enlargement of fort in a province. You must be able to build the fort in accordance of technology and taxvalue. The price of the fort may not exceed the amount of ducats that would have been given.
Presently you get rewards for being on time (as specified in post 1 of the general thread) and for writing the narrative part of an AAR.
EDIT REQUEST PART 2. THE MT CALCULATION
Formula for MT
Definition: military unit = 1000 infantry or 1000 cavalry or 10 guns or 1 war ship or 5 galleys. Only integer values for each category, truncate decimals.
Next session's MT =
1
+ (previous session's MT/2)
+ (number of military units lost in battle during the session * 25) / (the theoretical cap of the manpower pool at the end of the session * number of whole years played the last session) /2
For the 2nd session the value of you losses (i.e. the 3rd part of the formula) will be divided by yet again 2 because all players always lose a lot of men in session 1. Likwise it will be divided again in session’s starting after 1750 (because of the economical growth) according to this: divide by 1.2 for session starting before 1770, with 1.4 for session starting before 1790 and with 1.6 for sessions starting later.
Truncate the end result down to one decimal since Tonio's generator handles one decimal and not more.
Note 1: This system makes no distinction between wars vs humans and vs AI.
Note 2: Only battles, i.e. what is called "Combat" in the stats, are taken into consideration, not attrition nor disbandment.
The formula in words
What the formula says is: if you have a MT value of 3 and play a normal 25 years session you need to lose as many military units as your MP pool cap to keep your MT at 3. If you lose less it will decrease, if you will lose more it will increase. If you have a MT of 4 you need to lose twice your MP pool to keep your MT.
Explanation of the expression "theoretical cap"
Assume you do not control all of your provinces. Then edit the save to give you control of all of your provinces. Just make Control-C on the row for owned provinces and then Control-V on the current line for controlled provinces and overwrite whatever it says. Then load the game and run one month (I believe you may have to do that to have the correct number updated). That way you will get your theoretical MP pool cap.
If you control all of your provinces that provides MP (i.e. those in Europe and if anyone outside Europe only if land-connected to your capital) you will not need to do this edit and check.
You get your cap by hovering over your MP number on the top of the screen, there it will say "Maximum is X" where X is a number. The X number is your cap, or at least the number we use as cap in the formula.
Max and min value of MT
The allowed span of MT will be 2.5 to 4.5.
I.e. if your MT is lower than 2.5 it will be increased to 2.5. If it is higher than 4.5 it will be lowered.
Who does the MT calculation
In your AAR you must do this calculation yourself. Just apply your formula. If you cannot do that this game is not for you. The reason for this is to spread out the burden of work needed to be done by the GMs/Editor. With this solution the one making the random leaders will only have to look at the appropriate section in the AAR, titled “MT CALCULATION”.
EDIT REQUEST PART 3. THE LEADER REQUEST
Specify what leaders you want, according to the rules in the general thread.
EDIT REQUEST PART 4. THE CORE CLAIM.
When claiming a core do it by writing “Core PID” where PID = province ID. E.g. “Core 519”.
EDIT REQUEST PART 5. THE CULTURE CLAIM.
When claiming a culture write a narrative explaining why you are allowed to claim. Say how many provinces exists with this culture and then tell when you become owner of which relevant provinces. If your narrative is deemed unsatisfactory for determining the correctness of your claim an edit will not be made.
Example: I claim Congolese as state culture. It exists a total of 10 provinces with that culture and I have owned 5 of them for 100 years. These 5 are province X1 (conquered 1567), X2 (conquered …) etc.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE A FULL AAR
These are the consequences for not making a full AAR.
1. Narrative
If you do not write a full narrative you do not get the reward.
2. Rewards
If you do not specify what kind of reward you want you will get deflation.
3. MT
If you do not make a MT calculation you will get the minimum value for the next session. That value is presently 2.5
If you fail to make a correct calculation the GM will give you a warning. If you have a warning on your neck already, GM will give you minimum MT value, 2.5.
4. Leaders
If you do not specify your leader setup you will get the one you had the previous session. If you do not make any specification for the first session you will get 2 generals and 2 admirals in that session.
5. Core claim
If you do not claim a core you will not get one. If your claim in not correctly made you will not get it.
6. Culture claim
If you claim the culture incorrectly you will not get it.
If a request is involving a province make sure to ALWAYS write the PID (province ID)
