Well, I didnt know/understand that Joohoo couldnt get out of the war he was in (a war he joined because Russia was ghosted, just so that we could play on). The war lead to that Joohoo was "locked up" in an alliance and a war, so he couldnt invite his vassal to his military alliance and/or not defend it properly. As it didnt seem fair to go on with the war under such curcumstances, I chose to peace Hinterpommern. In any case, if Semlans says no, it is of course all right for me. :)

I dont understand that. To protect a vassal you dont need to be in the same alliance as the vassal. If you dow the nation at war with your vassal, your vassal will not peace until you peace.

Sure, maybe my case isnt that strong. But anyway, Semlans call. :)

Sweden
Land of the conquerors

The year was 1435, still no king in sight on the empty throne, but a man took the place of the king but never got the title king, his name was Karl Knutsson Bonde, he and several other important men was immediately sent to the Baltic coast to defend its friend Storfursten af Moskva(Grand duke of Muscovy. Anyway, the bastard Lithuania had on its own dowed the Big Duke and as he himself was on vacation on the White sea Riviera, Karl felt he had to do something, "Let's draw the attention to us instead!". The war went on, the other guys arrived after Karl, they were Wrede and some other guys I don't remember, all very good generals, knew what they were doing. Soon half the Lithuanian country was occupied and Karl felt he had done what he was planned, not a single Lithuanian had moved over the rus border, wanted to peace. But the Lithuanian diplomat was on vacation too! At the Black sea dump.

Ofcourse the peace was not concluded and after some working, the diplomat came back and accept peace of Samogitia and Letigalia. All Baltic was now Swedish!!!

Wrede lost the amphibious attack and the Swedish fleet who was outside the coast waiting for him was engaged by a Danish fleet and Wrede was lost forever. :(

Loans: I had 3 lagloans last session. I currently have a little more than 600d in my treasury and would request that one of these loans were to be edited out. Preferrably the last loan, since this was gained through the paying back of a loan during the session (and was thus not incurred due to a low treasury).

AAR Royaume de France 1.435 - 1.451

The King had some stuff to do, so he leaved the country without notice. The General Estates then proclaimed the Duke of Champagne, Philippe du Skarion, as as the protector of France, hoping for the King's return.

The Duke did a quite good job, he finished the wars against the evil alsatians that were mocking the French might in Western Europe, in the end the Palatinate, and Lorraine were vassalized. The he joined the english in a war against evil Burgundians and managed to secure Bourgogne and some other nice provs. However, the Duke failed to secure the french lands of Savoy who were vassalized by the Italians.

The King did returned after all, and took over the kingdom again. Seeing a weak Austria since last session he proclaimed himself as protector of the Swiss Confederation, who were occupied by german and italian forces. The King DoWed Mainz who controlled the province of Bern, with the hope of gaining that prov to make his claim stronger, he had no CB so that would piss off for no reason Strassbourg, who DoWed the French Kingdom. But that was good in the end, the King didn't had a CB over Strassbourg and they were occupying Schwyz, a swiss prov.

The French armies marched through the Rhine and the Alps victorius over everything that the germans throwed at them, Strassbourg was vassalized, Koeln was vassalized and the king managed to get Schwyz.

With the French economy booming and the ability to construct Refineries, plus the English protection, a golden age is near for the Royaume de France.

Venice AAr 1435-1451

Yet another war...

After annexing Genoa, arch-enemies of Venice for centuries, money flood into our coffers for years straight. We had an exceptional year soon afterwards, and yet more cash entered into our coffers. Obviously we had to pursue our politic of uniting the italian mainland, so we did not really invest these shiny gold coins into manufactories.

War loomed once more on the italian peninsular, this time, against Milan. They quickly dragged Savoy and Burgundy over this little issue for our pleasure. Burgundy was easily subdued to accept peace. Soon afterwards something funny hapened - Aragon, our ally, declared war on France, and we, obviously had to honour the alliance. :)

France couldnt handle all these AIs (France was at war vs Burgundy-Savoy-Milan-a crap load of rhinelanders and Aragon), so France peaced Savoy-Milan imediately. France even dared to invade Piemonte with Dunois but it got soundly beaten for our pleasure. A white peace soon took place since the Italian monarch felt too merciful on the poor french king. Savoy-Milan were vassalized in the end. Savoy wasnt really our intention, but who cares?

Battle of Pavia - where the French got their asses badly kicked

Naples and the Italian mainland

After this war, Tuscany recognized our Grandeur. Sadly Siena did not and even broke our vassalization... Hopefully their monarch came to his senses soon afterwards and became our vassal again. But this was not enough - Naples on the south stood on our path to unification. Not for long, since war was declared and they soon lost all their provinces. Bosnia, also decided to join Naples in their war against us. For their stupidity, they ended being reduced to 1 province and became yet another vassal on our big list.

Towards the end of the session, our fleet was greatly expanded (the venetian fleet is the biggest on the world!), and new armies raised as well, to prevent silly people from attacking us. Milan was also annexed, for the amusement of all.

Are you aware that we played 16 years, yes?

1451-1435 = 16 ?

It is amazing because the other week almost everyone did the same error. :D

Seems like venetians got some strange futuristic, explosion like, weapons in battle of Pavia ^^

Edit: was actually possible by that time :( (mid 15th century)

Well Dunno really, but hand canons have been around for decades before the earliest firearms - but they usually did so much harm to the attacker as to the one that fired the weapon! :D

And, didnt Mehmed conquer Constantinople with canons? That was on 1453.

According to Wikipedia, cannons were used by the English during the Hundred Years War at the Battle of Crécy in 1346.
