Nope, everyone in the HRE counts, elector or not. Italian states aren't electors but those relations still matter.

My apologies. It is not the Electorate tag I want to remove. Rather, I'd like to remove a nation from the HRE. Is this possible?
I doubt it................although you could try swapping tags (FRA or HOL) with the nation you want to remove, but that could cause some problems I suppose.

It'd work though, since both tags appear to be hardcoded as "not part of the HRE". At least they have the right graphics, unlike the Islamic possibilities.
By the way, my scenario......I've messed the latest changes up somehow ("crash to desktop bug".) Not that it matters anyway, as playing with an earlier version I discovered the save games caused the same thing...............

I'd use another tag then though, major's tags usually aren't fit for swapping in my experience.
But the only other ones are the Islamic tags...........and their graphics would look rather strange in the middle of the HRE!
Or do you know another European tag that'd work?

This was a major flaw in EU (that the Electoral status didn't make a difference). Sorry for asking here but is this going to be addressed in EUII?

Adding/Removing HRE status is actually one of the hardest things in the game even for seasoned professionals.
And taking France or Muslim nations as stated before isn't really the answer

Let him try it if he wants too-I would like to know which country he's trying to remove from the HRE's ambit though. And why!
