Removing or Changing the Status of Martial or Ecclesiastical Traits Issues?

Currently removing or altering the status of these 'coming of age' traits causes a CTD when trying to pick a dynasty in-game... All the other 'coming of age' traits can be removed or altered:

- Skilled Tactician
- Brilliant Strategist
- Scholarly Theologian
- Mastermind Theologian

Does anybody have any clue what might be causing this? It's a real hurdle to traits modding.

I know it's these traits because I independently tested altering the status of the trait to HEALTH for each of these traits... It took ages...

Are there characters in the history files with these traits, and none with the other traits?

I've modded every single line of scholarly_theologian out and no luck. The other traits are still in the files and they act fine.
