I got it (and Hannibal’s Guide for HoI2 Map Editor) but didn't find a way to edit names on the map, the map extractor crashes before extracting all maps, so I can edit them afterwards.

The extractor however extracts random images (among which is the map I intent to re-name). Alas, the Map Maker crashes also, despite the fact that I meet all the requirements.
I would be grateful if anyone could receive the altered map png file and compiled it to a Victoria format one...

Hmm it should mention what is up with it when it crashes. I remember having to play about with it for a while, also. Eventually I got used to it.
