How do you increase the trade posts a Republic can have? Without Tech, I am struggling a bit. Maybe I need a little time to pass to let my sons and nephew grow up, is having male dynasty members the only way to increase it? Do they have to be landed? I am just a tad confused, still getting used to having no technology to manage.

If the only way to increase the size is with more males in my court of my dynasty, wow! That will make for some fun chaos when it all unfolds. Expansion at the risk of stability. I like it. I am playing Lys, and I love all the Republics more than I like playing the main story.

While I am here, I will also ask, how did you make Dany playable without owning land? Does owning the titlular title she has allow her to be played? I am curious because the most fun I have had so far is playing characters like her and Snow, and specifically during moments when they don't own anything. Strange, I know. I just think it would be great to have a way to just... pick up, leave where you are, and go to a different part of the world to resettle.

The more male family members you have in your court the more trade post you can hold, at least thats the case with the vanila game.
I dont know if any mechanics were changed in AGOT mod

Nor I. I only knew that without Tech to increase (Trade Practices) that I had to find a different way. I am using a ruler designer character, so it will take me a decade or 2 to set up some dynastic males. Sure makes playing as Lys a little more... intense? I like it.

Maybe even max_tradeposts = 1 at the end of one of the building lines for it? Just so that finishing one post enables the next?

The family mansion chain of buildings in your family palace increases trade post limit already.

The tech increases your limits a lot more than your family palace. In Vanilla, Republics have several means to increase trade post limits. Technology works over time, completing a Mansion Ladder building takes time and of course, raising kids takes time. I don't mind this hardcore Nerf. I have seen Republics in Westeros become active unlike Republics in Vanilla. I probably don't want every water tile with a spot of land owned by someone - I was just curious if there was a different way to increase limits that I wasn't aware of.

I find that in vanilla CK2, family members add more cost than the benefit you get from the additional trade posts. A great way is to steal them from other families/republics provided you have the strength to do it. >=)
